Welcome to my “In a Nutshell” Review series beginning with my Review List.

The Reviews will be posted in no specific order but will showcase the basics of the game and talk about some nice quirks and style choices of the game. As well as some negative things in terms of gameplay or experience. But for now here is my list of 10 Games I will be reviewing! Let me know in the comments if you know any of these games or which games you’d like to see me review first!

Oxygen Not Included -

Simulation Game by Klei Entertainment
If you saw my last post you already know what this game is, for those who don’t know, Oxygen not included is a game where you find your colonists on an Asteroid and have to progress through the cycles and create a stable living environment.
The mechanics in this game are amazing and it shocks me that it is still in Pre-Alpha!

Prison Architect V2.0

Strategy Simulation Game by Introversion Software
Prison Architect was my bread and butter for a while. I would play the game nonstop. Although the escape mode didn’t include all the features that I wanted to see. They have refined the game extensively in terms of looks and the smoothness of the game.
It’s on Xbox as well as PC and Tablet Devices. Pffft, I remember the excitement of the new update video each (few) month(s) when it was PC exclusive. Prison Architect is a Prison Management game played from top down. Research a tech tree and expand and upgrade your prison, take grants once unlocked and increase the amount of prisoners. Could you keep a Prison functioning?

Another Brick in the Mall

Shopping Simulation Game by The Quadsphere
Another Brick in the mall seems to have a Prison Architect gameplay/artwork style but a unique spin. This place can get hectic! Hundreds of shoppers, employees, builders, janitors and stock clerks (not to mention your cookers and servers and movie/bowling ball checkout employees)
I got this game and fell in love with its micromanagement. Although there have been many bugs it is in alpha so there is plenty of time to develop and nurture the game. More in the review.

Aragami

Third Person Stealth Action Game by Lince Works
My friend David got me into this game. He likes stealth but oh boy am I terrible at the best of times when silence is virtue. In Aragami you play as a shadow ninja progressing through levels trying to fight off the warriors, or pick them off one by one. I haven't completed this game nor payed much attention to the story line but hope to do a in depth review :D
But the Premise (as on steam) is:

Aragami is a third person stealth game that casts you as an undead assassin with the power to control the shadows. Teleport to any shadow, become invisible, materialize weapons or even summon a shadow dragon to infiltrate the enemy ranks and dispose of your targets

Bioshock Infinite

FPS, Action/Adventure Game by Irrational Games and others
Words cannot express my love and adoration for this game. Anything steam-punky count me in! The storyline is rich, any bugs/glitches are barely noticeable. Sometimes it can get a little stuttery but that's only because I have to have the graphics up on high because it's a damn beautiful game. Bioshock Infinite is about the journey of rediscovering a life you have forgotten while never truly connecting the dots. It’s a third-person shooter with a well-done storyboard-driven game, at times action pace but beautiful whenever it wants. If you are unfamiliar with Bioshock Infinite or the Bioshock Series please do a search around for some videos or wait for my review.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Competitive Team based FPSGame by Valve
Counter Strike is a team based FPS (first Person Shooter) where you play as either the Terrorists or the Counter Terrorists. I mainly play Competitive mode but I can’t make it past Nova 1. There are several game types which keep the community alive. There are CSGO championships in Esports.
The game has updates in the form of map releases and gun tweaks.
All in all it’s a good game and has me drawn back to it in phases. The Gun Skins are by far one of the best parts of the game.

Age of Empires 2 : HD edition
Real Time Strategy Game by Microsoft Studios, Skybox Labs and more
Age of Empires 2 released when I was 1 year old. It has stood the fast paced times and earned its spot in my heart. The HD edition was released sometime before 2013, couldn’t find out when. D:
If you are not familiar with this game then you will recognize a lot of key elements the game is designed on that still carry through to a majority of games today. The strategies required to deal with certain situations become increasingly sporadic and difficult as the game progresses. Start off with 3-4 Villagers and limited supplies, build your city from there. Build farms, walls, houses, town centers, mills, barracks and more. Each Civilization type has unique troops and stats causing a large level of diversity in strategic gameplay.

Tropico 5

Strategy/City Sim Game by Haemimont Games and Kalypso Media Digital
Tropico 5 is a colony builder and management game with trading and population needs. I fell in love with this game because I’m a sucker for intense management games and resource collection. Although this game could use a graphic overhaul for sure. Build farms, markets, houses, power stations and more on your tropical island. Kill off the opposing leader running for El Presidente or try to win over the voters while keeping the budget afloat. Tropico 5 has a good soundtrack too, if you're able to jam along while you play for hours on end.

Kingdom: New Lands

Strategy Game by Noio and Raw Fury
Kingdom: New Lands is a side-scrolling adventure game. Your Golden crown makes you Royalty and the people form a town with you. You collect gold coins from a daily Merchant who you can tip for extra gold. The gold can then be used to entice a homeless person to become a citizen and move into your town. From there you can spend gold to create a bow or hammer, an idle citizen will pick up an available tool and go to their assigned job. As you explore and realize the world is not as safe as you dreamt you are attacked by goblins with one sole purpose. Get the Crown. Build walls with your builders and survive the nights. The daybreak causes the goblins to return to their portal but won’t stop them from trying to get the crown if in arms reach! Thankfully the crown gets knocked off first, giving you a chance to reclaim and fall back. The game has another tier of citizen and a few more upgrades to talk about in the review. I love this game, it’s playable with a controller as well!

RimWorld

Simulation Game by Ludeon Studios
Rimworld is a Sci-Fi Colony simulator run by a intelligent list of AI storytellers with unique traits. This game has had me hooked many times. I’ve had it from before it was on Steam. The mod support has only made the community flourish! The game causes you to endure climate effects, diplomacy, gunplay, melee combat, biomes, trade, medicine, art, farming, resource management and more. I could go on forever but I need not say much more than wait for the review :D
