"It doesn't matter that they won't remember me. What matters is I helped."

-Cole (Dragon Age: Inquisition)

Tell me, what's your favorite games from BioWare? And is Anthem one of your most anticipated game too? For me it is, the game looks dope with all those characters flying around the map in Exo-suit and all that. One time I unexpectedly saw a (kinda) funny news about what BioWare did to someone's corn fields for the sake of Anthem's promotional video, and then I discovered something sad the next.

BioWare shared a sad news on their blog not long ago, just a few hours back, about one of their veteran who has passed away recently, Corey Gaspur. Thanks to the man's good work Sonic Chronicles, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 were made and bring joy to many people.

The Designer Has Done Many Great Works

Corey Gaspur first joined BioWare Edmonton in March 2007 as a designer, the Nintendo DS RPG Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood was his first project. Gaspur worked as a gameplay and level designer of Sonic Chronicles:  The Dark Brotherhood, Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2. In Mass Effect 3 he took the part as a lead combat designer. Later he was also consulted on various EA titles including Star Wars: Battlefront, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, and recently after he worked on Mass Effect: Andromeda, Gaspur leveled up to a lead designer. Anthem, the upcoming sci-fi action shared-world RPG, was his first project as a Lead Designer.

Outside of BioWare, Gaspur also spent his time working as a part-time instructor teaching about video game design for many years at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton. This is what I mean when I say great works, this is one of them. Imagine how many of his students that would be great video game designers as he was.

Obviously things like this is always too hard to bear, especially for anyone close to him. I know that they are sad, his family, his friends, the entire studio, but I can't imagine how heartbreaking it really is for them. I wonder if they will make some kind of tribute in Anthem in the memory of him. For the sake of their fans and for the Lead Designer.. Please make sure the game will be incredible, BioWare.

He will be missed, he will remembered. My condolences to his friends and family.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and colleague Corey Gaspur. He was a member of our team for over nine years, and worked as a designer on many of our titles, including Sonic Chronicles, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2 and 3, and most recently Anthem. Corey was a talented designer and an even better person. We offer our condolences to Corey’s family and everyone that knew him. We will miss you. "

Dammit...

The Mass Effect Trilogy and the Shepard arc was honestly the best set of games I ever played. They spoke to every part of me as a person.

You just couldn't help but fall in love with the characters.

Didn't even think the death of one of the creators would catch my notice until now.

RIP Gaspur ;(

This makes me really sad. He left a great legacy though, so we still have something to remember him by. Thank you for sharing!

You're welcome.
He haven't even finished his creation in such position in the company. When I read BioWare's post on Twitter and see the replies about those people's memories with him I was like..
Lie down,
Try not to cry,
Cry a lot.
