RE: NightOwl Game Reviews - Top 5 Games That Deserve A Remake.....
I don't think there is a game out there more deserving of a Remake then Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen. That is an absolutely fantastic game, but comes with some heavy flaws holding it down, though even despite those I'd still rate it in my top 20 games of all time.
They need to make it a bit more obvious what does and does not effect your reputation, Alignment and Charisma, as without a detailed guide online or god knows how many hours of micromanaging and replay you will never realize every detail that goes into it.
Also give a few ways to tell what your stats on different units need to be too upgrade them, and a handful of other tweeks and you'd seriously have something amazing.
I mean it's an SNES game with 13 endings. Even Chrono Trigger doesn't have that many endings.
Also I stand by the idea that the mix of Alignment, Charisma, and Reputation makes for the greatest morality system in all of gaming. Nothing else even compares.
That's a great pick! A lot of people didn't get to play it on the SNES since apparently there were only about 25,000 copies of the game available in North America, but it's definitely one of the best tactical RPGs out there.
Edit: There we go, fixed it. :-)
Holy shit I was lucky then. I lived in a town of, at the time, about 3500 people, and we hand a very small video rental shop that had a selection of video games to rent.
Somehow it had all the great RPGs of the SNES. Earthbound, Final Fantasy IV and VI, Breath of Fire 2, Lufia 2, Secret of Mana and Evermore, Super Mario RPG.
With only 25K copies of Ogre Battle I have no idea how one ended up there.
Edit: I looked it up, and it was 25K in NOrth America, not Worldwide.
