Rules of Survival, Surviving Life

It's been years since I last played an online game. It was the famous Ragnarok Online. I rarely play a role-playing game because I hate reading. A testament to that was, I read The Little Prince for two years and understand nothing in its story. lol.

Anyway, back in Ragnarok Online, I played the game because of my wife @essiehime who was then my girlfriend. She was the who likes playing such games like The Final Fantasy.

What I normally play were Counter-Strike and Battle Realms. Yes, I know, old school. haha.

But recently, I am hooked on a mobile game Rules of Survival. an FPS game through mobile phones. Technology has really advanced nowadays, as games can now connect the world.

Every time I play this game, I always get hype and experience a sleeping disorder. Every moment in the game becomes real to me. I need to survive like in the movie The Purge where there is no reason but people are killing people.

In the game, only one player can survive among 120 players. If you are in solo-mode. And the map is as big as a city. All players will start with nothing, no weapon, no armor, nothing. Everyone starts with a zero on hand. So it's a fair game.

All the weapons, bullets, and armors can be looted anywhere, but it's a race. The first one to get the item will have an advance among the other players. So the tactic, let the most of the other players dropped first from the plane and be the last. Though the cons there is they'll get to complete weapons and armors before you even step on land.

But since the map is a size of a city, chances are, you are alone in your drop and be able to collect some tools before the close combat.

Don't worry, just carefully get to the houses or buildings and surely you'll get the things that can advance you in the game.

Once you are ready for the war, go and protect your self from others. Do not let your self out in the open and get fired out.

Well, this post is not about a review of the game, during the game, I realized that it does resemble real life where there are "rules" to survive.

Different tactics are done in the game in order to survive, and different behaviors of players. Which somehow connected in real life surviving.

SNIPER

A player can hide on top of high mountains or buildings. Use a scope, stay in that only spot and wait for the prey. For me, this is the easiest tactic. Once I got a high-caliber assault rifle or a sniper rifle, as long as I got a scope with at least 4x zoom, I'm good.

Normally, I killed 2 out of the 120 players and still be in the top 20. As I only stay at one place, so less chance of being spotted and killed. Not unless I'm not able to detect incoming player behind me. That's why I use a headset when playing, to hear footsteps near me.

In life, most individuals just stay in one place, invested time and effort to be safe. In our comfort zone, most likely, safety and success are easy. It will take time, but the high chance of success in life we can have. But without looking around may also cause a fall down. As you might not know, somebody or something is about to hit you behind and pull you down. So still, be cautious, alert, and be ready to leave that spot of a comfort zone and search for a new, better spot or in life we call it, "opportunity".

LOOTER

Since every player in the game fully relies on looting weapons and great pieces of equipment, most players do the hard work of looting in order to get the best tools, by putting themselves in an open. And one of the game's feature is a random drop of a red container containing the killer tools.

But wait, do not forget the snipers waiting for you as their prey. It can be a trap. Instead of getting the killer rifles, you may be failed and get killed helplessly.

Living the real life, greed is just around us. I don't say I am not, I also take the chance to have good loot. One example is the lottery, every day, go to the nearest lotto outlet in your place, surely you'll see a pile of people lining up in getting a chance to become a multi-millionaire in an instant. There could also be a chance that I am one of them.

Some of us even do different gamblings, playing different cards in order to get all the banker's load of cash, without noticing that their full bread for the family is being burned as well. In the end, they end up.
Helplessly. Without everything, including family.

THE WANDERER

Unless highly skilled, this is the most dangerous type of player. It's a high risk, This kind of player doesn't, or maybe have a super-skill level.

Being in an open, it's a higher chance of being shot to death. Still because of the snipers above your head, within walls or just right by your side.

This kind of player is a trigger happy. He/she is after for a number of kills. Running for his life away from the blue circle that caused radiation that killing players within its covered area.

It's not a bad thing to be like this player, aside from the score, it has a higher chance of stumbling an armory for the continuous kill until survived. But ensure that you aware of your surroundings, and has a quick response once a bullet strike.

In life, being "wanderer" is a dangerous choice. No assurance that you get stumble with the best things that can make us better, unlike in the game. Most likely we died with nothing. No place to stay and no home. But with precautions and continuous hard work, there is a chance of succeeding, as you continually work to be better. In the end, you'll get a "high score" in life, and be on top of everyone.

THE DRIVER

In the game, especially along the roads, there are a lot of vehicles we can drive. From motorcycles to a big-foot. Just click "drive" and you'll own the vehicles being left unattended on the road. With limited fuel, vehicles can be driven. To make it easier to run away from radiation, to the center of the battlefield.

For me, this is a tactical move when the circle of the battlefield is still in its normal size. Combined with a sniper rifle and complete armor, run directly to the center of the field and wait for the prey. Just be sure that your bandages and bullets are sufficient to heal self during the rain of bullets, and be able to fire back and advanced among others. Plus the vehicle is an added protection for the player, but not until the enemy threw a grenade to it. It's an instant death.

In life, we buy better clothing, accessories and a beautiful car, as long as it would fit with the current financial state, or most of the time not. We take the opportunity of being protected by these. But not from killers or other players, but with criticisms.

We buy things despite not part of a basic necessity, in order to be respected and accepted by peers and other audience. Yes, life is a big stage with full of audience and critics, that we should be presentable at all times. And once those luxury has fired out, most of the time, Our protection is gone as well.

Though during this state of life, true protection can be found, with our real friends and love ones.

These are just a few of the tactics that I encountered during the game. Being in a rank of Silver III, I still have a lot to learn about the game. But believe me, it is fun and exciting. I always get the nervous feelings whenever I get to highest mountain, crawl, scope and wait for my prey.

My heart pumps rapidly, due to the thought that there may be someone behind me and will just shoot me in the head and get killed, without me seeing him at least. lol.

So now, Let's drop and Play Rules of Survival

So far, my highest kills is 4. But the game is not about the number of kills, but how long can you survive.
