For one reason or another I felt the desire to relive my childhood and play some Dinosaur Tycoon. While trying to figure out how to even accomplish that goal I thought it would be fun to do a game review on it. Enjoy!
If you are like me and using a computer made in the last ten years you will not be able to run this game right away as it is built for 32 bit systems. My solution was to install Windows XP on a virtual machine.
After install I was able to put the game folder on a zip drive and then add it to the VM to copy over.
I loaded the game and the all too familiar title screen appeared. The nostalgia started to kick in when I heard the music.
I wonder what happened to these devs? lol
I selected new game and my adventure began!
The bank was quick to issue me a loan without any ID or background check, the teller is a real tool...
First things first you need some land.
Then some fencing for that land.
I went with chain link as I did not want my dino to run away.
Next you need to hire somone to feed the dino's.
I thought a vet would be the best bet.
Next I got to pick my dino, I was broke by this point so options were very limited.
Went with this little veggie eater.
Next I headed to the office to set my ticket prices, people are not going to pay the big bucks to see a little veggiesaur.
Funny how this desk looks as cluttered as my actual desk.
Prices are set, let the games begin!
Not sure exactly what happened but after just a few minutes I ran out of money and the bank foreclosed on my loan...
I remember this game being a lot more fun, this is getting a 2 out of 5 stars on my classic games rating list.
Hope my poor veggiesaur is ok... ;)
Let me know if you are interested in playing this yourself or would like me to review another classic. I may do oregon trail next, pretty sure I know how to beat that one still. Thanks!
2 out of 5 haha doesnt seem too good lol
Aweful.
