CAVEBLAZERS PC - REVIEW

Hello wonderful steemians, it’s another fantastic day again, hope we are having a splendid week. I’m here again to bring to the community another amazing PC game review. This game is called Caveblazers. Everyone will love this game, any age, and also any gender. This time, I will be making a review on an 2D, sidescrolling roguelike platformer game. It is a game played by gamers and non- hardcore gamers, most especially the non- hardcore gamers. So I will like everyone to sit back and relax as I review the amazing adventure game.

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Firstly, Caveblazers is a challenging 2D, sidescrolling roguelike platformer game, with procedurally generated levels, randomly rolled loot and permadeath. In this game, you are not the only one, as you explore deeper into the cave, you'll discover new areas to explore, more powerful enemies, and also find new weapons to use to kill them. You'll find gold, and spend it on items and health regeneration from shrines. You'll find special, passive buffs that can enhance you build in surprising ways. And you'll die, in many painful, cheap and sometimes funny ways sometimes as a result of your own pride.
Secondly, Caveblazers is an action/adventure focused platformer roguelike game set in a fantasy world. Each game is unique with procedurally generated levels to explore and a huge amount of items, weapons to discover.
Finally, the game takes place in a recently discovered cave, said to hold supreme power. In this game, you play as an adventurer going out to explore the cave and find out what riches it holds.

Caveblazers requires a decent computer inorder to run the game smoothly. The Minimum Requirements for Caveblazers requires you to have at least a dual core processor and a 2gig ram to enjoy the excitement and fun of the game.

GAMEPLAY
Firstly, it begins with a Journey into a mysterious cave, fighting orcs and goblins with many weapons and magical items. Make friends along the way to help achieve yout aim in your adventure, then watch in despair as they are crushed in to a bloody pulp under a troll's fist.

Secondly, finding the door to the next area is your main aim. Your character fights using both melee and ranged attacks, initially with a sword and a bow, and with a much more detailed combat system compared to other games in the same genre. With the initial sword you can do a regular swings as well as swing upwards and do a jumping downward strike. Also, you are able to fire your bow in the eight different directions which gives you a wide variety of attack.

Thirdly, weaponry, equipment and rings are the main items you’ll be finding as you smash boxes, pots and open chests. These search can have a variety of effects, from simple statistical bonuses to firing lightning or having a flying skull accompany you attacking enemies. You unlock a variety of cosmetics to make your adventurer look dapper.

Fourthly, you will come across a different types of altars, some offer health for gold or even items for health. As well as altars, there are a variety of blessings that give a variety of bonuses, these are basically in set of three where you can only choose one. Blessings can provide major perks such as ability to double jump or make melee hits affect closeby enemies.

Fifthly, the action doesn’t stop there, every few floors you’ll have to take on a boss, as you will run into a boss every third level. There are a handful of bosses that you will randomly encounter throughout your run, and they can appear in any area. Although the bosses are a nice idea, and they do break up the cave exploring sections with a faster paced, higher stress battle. There are multiple of evil bosses for each area. Along the way you will come across friendly adventurers who will assist you. Like the monsters, they do a good job in trying to follow you around the map although they can get stuck in pits or similar obstacles from occasionally. This does help make the world feel a little bit less empty. Also, Magic damage requires you to find a magic item and charge it up, which they can then fire off with some interesting effects.

Finally, throughout the game, you will unlock perks which will give you bonuses for that particular run. Perks include things like ranged weapons, more powerful melee attacks, or starting the run with bombs.

CONS

1. you seemingly can’t select a challenge once you’ve completed it to see exactly what reward it gave you, so you just have to associate the symbol beside it to a new unlock.
2. The odd crash here and there
3. Bow can only be shot in 8 directions
4. inability to focus your character on a particular fighting style

CONTROLS
The controls of this game can be a little bit chunky, definitely recommend using a gamepad controller as it makes the play much tighter and more accurate. Using a keyboard can make your life a bit, but this is when it begins to deteriorate in areas such as aim, can be done, just takes much more time to get used to.

GRAPHICS
The visuals in this game is good.
Fantastic pixel platformer game. The different environment/areas are very nicely differentiated and each new section has a sneak preview into what the next level will be with little contaminated spots within the map.

SOUND AND MUSIC
The sound and music quality of this game is good.
The whole soundtrack between areas and boss fights are absolutely fantastic, with medieval inspired music that perfectly fits the theme of the game.

VERDICT
Caveblazers is a difficult rogue-like platformer game. in the game, you play as an adventurer that ventures into a small cave to prove a strange old man wrong, and see your way to the end of these series of caves. If you do happen to see yourself to the end of them, more plot is reviled and you get a nice little bonus.
Great game, and with the recently added local co-op, it has given it even more replay ability and fun which makes it more awesome. Ofcourse, it does make it even more difficult, there are more enemies thrown in to compensate for the extra power.

MY EXPERIENCE
Caveblazers is a fun and exciting game to play. If you are a fan of rogue-like games, then I will say give caveblazers a try. The game is very much action focused and feels fresh and new each time you dive into the depths of the cave. Overall, I will say Caveblazers could be a difficult game, but it is a fun and exciting game packed with lots of action. I really enjoyed every minute on the game.
