Telltale Batman Season 2 Episode 4 Review - What Ails You

Kissing with Catwoman, wrestling with Bane and putting your nose in other people's business at night. The life of Batman, or Bruce Wayne, is anything but boring and standard. In this Batman Season 2 Episode 4 Review you can read how it goes with the man who tries to keep Gotham safe.

[Note, spoiler follows from previous episode]. There you are, locked up in a freezer. That is how the previous episode ended. Batman was in a terrible situation with Harley Quinn and to save his lovely Catwoman, he sacrificed himself. An ice cold result.

Set your sights on Quinn

But Batman would not be Batman if he did not have the necessary gadgets to escape. After all, he has been faced with more intense fire. As soon as you break out you put your sentences on Quinn, because this crazy woman does not have much good in the sentence.

She wants to steal a virus and release it all over Gotham. Something that you want to put a stop to. Where the middle part of the previous episode was rather boring, episode 4 is now wonderful to play from start to finish. What Ails You gives you great fights, exciting dialogues and a piece with Alfred.

A good mix

The mix is well represented. And the power is well utilized. Because Telltale Games must have a good story with convincing dialogues. And especially those between Bruce and John, or the Joker, are to be feasted.

Because John is your friend, but obviously he also has a relationship with Quinn. And as a result, Bruce balances on the limit of how far his friendship must go with John. You clearly notice that he does not feel comfortable at all. Because he is the good guy and does not want to be pulled too badly.

So the question is what you do when John lures you to a crime scene. If the corpses are just not used as wallpaper and you are talking to the man who laughs rather hysterically, what do you do? Choose your Johns side and are you a friend in good times and bad times? Or are you going to slowly distance yourself from him?

You completely determine how you play the game and whether you stay true to your friend or still keep away from him. The conversations are in any case very interesting and you can almost feel how Batman must feel. It is also not easy. Parents murdered and then you have found a friend, but you do not actually want to go that way that he is about to go.

Batman Season 2 Episode 4 exudes credibility above all, making the episode the best this season, with a bang in the end. Only a piece with one character is less interesting, but that piece only covers seconds. And so almost not worth mentioning.

Conclusion

Now we are waiting for the final piece. But one thing comes first: there is a storm in the air! And that creates action, sensation and everything you want to work with Batman .

Something happens and you are part of it. If you love Batman and are not so much looking for games where you constantly have to give blows, but want to enjoy integrating dialogues, then this game series is for you. Just start at the beginning , only to end up at this exciting fourth part.

The plus and minus points

✔ Choices that Bruce has to make
✔ Band between Bruce and John
✔ Exciting end
✖ Only one conversation is not that interesting

Thanks for reading, I hope you liked it!

Thank you very much for this analysis. I really love season 2 (much more than season 1, and I think the main reason is John) !
When I saw him for the first time in season 1, at Arkham Asylum, I couldn't take my mind off the fact that he will be the future Joker and so I couldn't trust him (I couldn't play RP, I couldn't tell myself that Bruce was discovering this character for the first time, and that he didn't logically have to worry about him anymore...). But at that time, I hadn't yet got to know John (we can only see him for a few minutes in season 1, difficult to get an opinion).
Anyway, then comes season 2, with John who appears in town, free, always so strange. At first, as for season 1, I can't separate John from the Joker. And then, the more the episodes go by, the more I get attached to this weird, but endearing guy. I used him at first, and now I'm sorry, I know it can't end well for the Bruce - John bromance, but I still have a small hope.
That's why this game is so great, it manages, little by little, to erase what we know in order to show us something new, which we end up really adhering to.
Telltale has flaws, but their scenarios are really good !
