Your power was out for 3 days? That's huge... I really should stock up the house again like we did last winter...
I'll post some images of the devastation sometime in the near future. Yea, its a good idea to be prepared. The services we rely on just cannot respond fast enough in cases of mass problems, so we need to be prepared to look after ourselves for a few days.
Weather forecasters said we can expect another storm any time now. So if I disappear again, you'll know why. Trees are still leaning on our telephone lines. Hydro took care of their lines, but telephone is out of their jurisdiction, so the wires for the phone lines can break next! One of the workers said they didn't want to chance having wood fall on the vehicle, so they cut just the tops and left the rest for others to deal with. I'm on DSL, so rely on the phone line for my Internet.
