Two Tokens For People Who Like Games!

in #gaming5 years ago (edited)

If you like to write about video games or PC games, then you'll like that doing it can earn you two different gaming-related tokens. One of them is the Battle Token, and the other one is the Good Game Token. Both of them work similarly in the sense that you can earn them by posting with their specific tags, either through their own frontend or Steemit itself (or Busy, or Steempeak, or any other frontend you like), or by staking them (similar to doing power up on Steemit) and curating (upvoting) other people's posts. Aside from that, each community (or "tribe," as the new topic-specific STEEM communities are being called) have their own peculiarities.

Good Game Token

The Good Game Token (GG) is the token by the SteemAce community. SteemAce aims to incentivize Steemians to post content about games, and then bring non Steemians to the platform as well. To earn the token from your gaming posts, you must use the #steemace tag. Their frontend is Steemace.io. They also have a videos site similar to Dtube at Tube.steemace.io, for gaming-related videos.

They have a big curation account (@good.game) with more than 1,000 SP and more than 7,500 PAL Power to upvote good gaming posts, which means your gaming posts can not only get nice GG rewards, but also nice STEEM/SBD and PAL token rewards as well! As with all the topic-specific tribes, be sure to keep the posts relevant to their topic (gaming, console or PC games etc.), as they also have a big account (@bad.game) with more than 300,000 staked GG to flag irrelevant posts. To get upvotes, you have to use the #steemace tag and have GG staked. The more GG you have staked, the bigger the upvotes you'll receive.

For 30 days starting on the day of SteemAce's launch (which was on July 13th, 2019), they will be giving 4 Steem Monsters/Splinterlands beta booster packs each day to random people who have staked GG. They will also host Steem Monsters/Splinterlands tournaments and have other contests and giveaways. Check their official account (@steem-ace) for news and future contests.

As you may have noticed, it's important to have GG staked. The good news is that there was an airdrop of 1 million GG to people who had staked PAL tokens and who had recently used select gaming-related tags. If it's your case, check your wallet on Steem Engine. Chances are that you may even have some GG already, and can stake them!

Battle Token

The Battle Token is the token by the Battlegames community. They had begun by hosting Steem Monsters/Splinterlands tournaments, but now are also big supporters of other gaming initiatives in the STEEM platform, and lovers of games in general. To earn the Battle Token from your gaming posts, you must use the #battle tag. Their frontend is Battlegames.io, and they also have a videos site similar to Dtube at Battletube.io.

Aside from hosting Steem Monsters/Splinterlands tournaments and awarding Battle Tokens as prizes, they also have draws of gaming-related tokens or prizes to users who have Battle staked. There is an event called "Battle Squad Pop Up Draw" where users with Battle staked (usually more than 1,000) enter a draw to win valuable prizes (like rare Steem Monsters/Splinterlands cards or booster packs). And there is a draw that happens at the end of every month, where only users with at least 1,500 Battle staked (starting from August, 2019, the minimum requirement will increase to 2,000 Battle).

Another big difference is that, soon, users will be able to use their Battle tokens to buy or sell their Steam game keys on DGameMarket (read the announcement here).

To follow the happenings in the Battlegames community, check their account, @battlegames.

Closing Words

Now gamer Steemians have two very interesting options to earn more from their gaming posts. The two options aren't exactly competing, and can be used at the same time. Actually, if you use the #pal tag (as it can be used for any topic) alongside the #battle and the #steemace tags, you'll be earning three tokens at once! And as SteemAce has staked PAL, you'll be getting even more PAL, too. Only make sure to keep the posts relevant to gaming!
