[First Impression] Super Turbo Demon Busters

in #gaming6 years ago

Super Turbo Demon Busters is game with simple click-based gameplay, good pixel-art and randomly generated levels.

This post is part of my "First Impression" series:

I'm playing & posting about the games from my backlog. Here I write about them and think whether I'd try finishing them or not. Though many of them are from Indiegala.

Super Turbo Demon Busters

The game is simple. You choose a hero and you're sent to a random procedural generated room, you battle monsters like large insects and zombies in what I assume is another planet.

In battle you just click on your opponent and the damage is calculated for both you and the enemy. While the damage for the enemy is shown to you before clicking on it, the damage you receive from doing such action isn't shown making battles a bit difficult.

The damage also depends on your current weapon, which can be changed at any time. The battle system is so simple that it makes Super Turbo Demon Busters basically a clicker game.

The game is described as a 'rouge-like' because each new game you're sent into a random room into a new generated world, and enemies you find change every time you start a level. Even if you lose you get to keep the money you recived in that level.

Final Thoughts

In my first impression play-through it took me about two losses on the first level to understand the game. After that I think it's pretty easy but enjoyable... It's a game best played at short bursts, especially while waiting for something.

With how simple it is, I don't think there's much I haven't seen yet of "Super Turbo Demon Busters." Other than what I've seen in my first impression run.

Will I try to complete this game?

Maybe, this game isn't a priority and I still have many games in my backlog.

with that character in the green suit I think it tries to capitalize on the Doom feel but doesn't do it very well... But anyways, it doesn't look as half assed as some other games do I think that's a plus!

This whole backlog thing makes me remember that I haven't finished Eden*, lol.

Yeah, better go back and play it then, it's one of the good visual novels.

Looks like an okay time killer... although like you said, there are plenty of other games to choose from... however, it does have an hilarious title!

Yeah the title is very good! the game isn't bad at what it does, as only one game in 12 games indiegala bundle it definitely worth the try!

Ah, you are picking up indie gala bundles? I used to, but ended up stopping as it was making my unplayed list longer and longer! That said, I still have humble bundle subscription...

Yeah I used to get indiegala bundles and I still do sometimes, the games usually interesting for the first 1-2 hours hence I play them as first impressions run.

I don't have unlimited internet data so small games like indiegala ones are easier for me to download, and when the game turns out bad it's easier for me to accept that and move on compared to when I download 10 GB game.

Ah... that is what I love about Netherlands... unlimited data (within reason...), and a download/up speed of 450/45 MB/s! I would find it hard to come back to the Australian internet!

Wish it was like that here too.
