My Top 10 Modern PC Games

My previous Top 10 was about classic PC games that are 10 years old or even older.

Modern games did not improve that much from their earlier counterparts, I can honestly say that their only improvement is in the graphics department. But occasionally you can see few gems out there. Modern PC games top 10:

1. Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I'm a big fan of cyberpunk and this game holds as one of the best in that area. Adam Jensen is our augmented human who is trying to figure out who is behind an attack on his company, meanwhile he discovers deeper plot that involves whole species. Gameplay was great with lots of augmentations to chose from, you can choose stealth approach or guns blazing. Role playing game at its best.  

2. Half Life 2

Gordon Freeman returns with his famous crowbar, this time he also posses a gravity gun. You can use and object in the world and launch it at the enemy with this contraption. Source engine still holds great, superb physics. One of the best games ever.

3. Marvel Heroes 2016

This has to be one of my favorite games in last 3 years. It is a free to play action role playing game, there are 60 playable heroes from marvel universe that you can choose, there are tons of mods to play, even raids of 10 people. Fun and addictive game constantly improved and updated.

4. Dawn of War 2

In this sequel we had no base building, the focus was more on action and map control. Warhammer 40k universe at it's best. Expansions introduced Last Stand mode where you and 2 more players are surviving waves of enemies and leveling up. Fun tactic real time strategy game. 

5. Old Republic

First real MMORPG on this list. I love Star Wars and I've played this game quite a lot, there are 8 different classes to choose from and every class has it's separate story line and companions, ships etc. This game considering it is an mmo is constantly improved and it is free to play so everyone can give it a shot.

6. Witcher 3

For sure game of the last two years with 2 expansions released this year. This game is such a detailed labor of love from Polish developers, Geralt of Rivia is not your typical hero, but what he does best is monster slaying and getting all the girls. The game that can steal your life if you are not careful. 

7. Skyrim

Latest in popular Elder scrolls series is the story of Dragonborn. You yell dragon language on poor wild life and ragdoll them around. Fun and detailed world of exploration and learning about who you are. Dragons flying around and terrorizing people, but not when you are around. 

 

8. Fallout: New Vegas

Fallout game with the smell of greatness. Obsidian game company is talented and in their hands fallout world is simply better than in Bethesda hands. New Vegas had it all, great story, great factions, great exploration and great weapons.

9. Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines

In this role playing game you take the role of a vampire in the world of darkness. Many vampire clans are fighting for power and who will win depends on player choices. Game filled with mystery and great story lines, vampire clans are so detailed and interesting, from crazy scheming camarila to savage sabbath. Whenever someone mentions Bloodliness someone will install it again.

10. Wasteland 2

This is how Fallout games needed to look like. Tactical role playing game in post apocalyptic environment. You take a role of a Ranger who is on a mission to help the wastelanders in any shape or form. Big world with many choices and consequences. Kickstarter success story.
