Spectre has had her moments being out of meta, with metas growing faster, what use to be a strong hero slowly got phased out of the game few years ago. Nowadays, Spectre has seen her way back into the game, not just as a viable carry, but also one of the strongest heroes to play against in the late game.

Her basic gameplay is to farm up all the way till the late game, and joining as little fights as necessary. Her early isn’t as weak as it use to be, with spectral dagger being quite an okay spell to spam at the opponents. Normally, dual laning a spectre would be the most ideal, as she really doesn’t do that much compared to heroes like juggernaut, gyro etc.

If a mid game presence is needed from the spectre, people would normally opt for the Drums + Blademail build, to tank up the hero and also have the ability to be a really annoying hero to face when in team fights. The game pretty much turns into hell for most opponents when her radiance is farmed up, turning most games around in the favor of spectre.
