Game with Human Touch

It has been awhile since I play any board games that is human to human interaction with friends or family. Throwing back to last week where I gathered with my secondary friends to play ‘killer game’ at midnight in McDonald’s. What a crazy session and a reminiscing moment for us. Everyone still has the playing spirit and indulge with the session. I played for around two hours and have to get back to my house as it is already like 2am plus.

Just some introduction on what’s the game is about. This version is an upgraded version of Killer game whereby conventionally we are categorized as killer, citizen, doctor. Killer will kill a player everyone and when killer stands majority, they win. On the other hand, doctor holds the power to save and kill a person with only single use per power. The doctor will know who was killed that night and he or she can decide whether or not to save the person. The doctor also can decide whether or not to kill a person based on the judgement of whether any other player suspected to be a killer (doctor stands on citizen side). Meanwhile, citizen has only one role, which is to discuss and decide which one to judge (kill).

On the other hand, this new version of killer game added new feature and removed doctor and citizen from it. The killing had happened prior the playing session, as a detective, we need to deduce based on the evidence given by the witness to guess who is the killer. There is a culprit and a co-partner. So both of them will try to confuse the detectives to make the wrong choice. Then, there will be a witness to play try and put up tips on what he or she saw on the crime scene. Haha, hard to explain with words, but it is totally fun to play.

Nonetheless, I would very much love to emphasize to have such moment more often and get away from electronics. The session together makes us more interactive and observant on what each of us are doing and reacting. It is totally different if we are playing video games whereby what we focus is the screen in front of us. The interaction will be only verbal.

Well, what says you about such boardgame session as a meditative session for people that are so stuck on gadgets. Let’s have one and enjoy! I have long been waiting for a monopoly game!
