Hey, what's up guys? My name is Dyvrai and this will be the first of many Pokemon competitive guides that I will do. Today i'm going to talk about my favorite Pokemon of all, Metagross, well, certainly, it will be more about Mega-Metagross. With nothing more to say, let's begin.

Mega-Metagross

Type: Psychic/Steel
Abilities: Tough Claws

Stats:
HP: 80
Attack: 145
Defense: 150
Sp. Atk: 105
Sp. Def: 110
Speed: 110

Overview:

• Mega-Metagross's ability Tough Claws gives all its contact moves 30% boost, which is pretty good bc of his high attack.
• Mega Metagross's good overall bulk allows it to tank hits from Pokemon like Mega Salamence and Mega Lucario and then retaliate back with Ice Punch and Hammer Arm, respectively, to OHKO.
• Mega Metagross's great defensive typing grants it an immunity to Poison as well as resistances to Fairy, Psychic, Normal, Flying, Ice, Rock, Steel, Dragon, and Grass. This allows it to check many offensive threats
• Mega Metagross doesn't have a good offensive typing, making it weak to common Ghost- and Dark-type threats such as Lunala, Arceus-Ghost, Mega Gengar, and Yveltal.

Set Details:

• Meteor Mash is Mega Metagross's strongest Steel-type STAB move and allows it to check Pokemon like all the Tapu, Xerneas and Arceus-Fairy
• Zen Headbutt is another STAB move for Mega Metagross, dealing great damage to Pokemon like Lucario or Hawlucha
• Ice Punch lets Mega-Metagross check and OHKO Mega-Salamence or Garchomp, also dealing a good amount of damage to Zygarde-C
• Hammer Arm can 2HKO Ferrothorn and check some Dark type that can be a real threat to him
• Clear Body grants it an immunity to Intimidate as well as Sticky Web prior to Mega Evolving
• A Jolly nature with 252 Speed EVs allows Mega Metagross to outspeed everything up to positive-natured base 100 Speed Pokemon.
• With those EVs, Mega-Metagross can get OHKO by some Pokemon with Earthquake or something like that, but also, those EVs gives him a great attack that can OHKO many of the Pokemon now in the Uber and OU tiers
