This Will Change Everything!!
Most of my posts are usually about food and dieting, but this one will be a little different. This one will be about how what I love - food and dieting - relates to some exciting news released by the Steem, inc team!!
If you didn't already know, SMTs have been a hot topic for the past several months. We've been waiting for what seems like forever for an official release date from the Steem, inc team and haven't gotten much other than "we're working on it".
Well yesterday changed all of that and it changed it for the better.
The Steem, inc team finally announced that SMTs will be coming to us in full-force in March of 2019. The testnet will go live in January of 2019.
This is super exciting stuff for all of us Steemians!! SMTs are a game-changer.
They're the equivalent of ERC20 to Ethereum!!! Do you remember what happened with the ERC20 protocol on the Ethereum blockchain?
ERC20 is what lead to the huge ICO boom and Ethereum was the base platform that benefited from all that attention and usage.
Ethereum has had it's share of scaling issues though and there are more issues yet.
But SMTs bring much more to the table. The Steem blockchain is far more powerful and far more usable than the Ethereum blockchain.
Anyone and their mother can use the Steem blockchain. I know this because I know several mothers who actually use the Steem blockchain on a daily basis!!!
So how does this relate to what I do?
Well first of all, Steem is like my home. I keep my money here, I spend tons of time here, I meet people here, I make friends here, etc...
SMTs make that home a lot better. It will bring more people to the platform, more attention, more growth, more stability!!! It will bring a much brighter future.
But what I'm also really excited about is the prospect of creating my own SMT.
I've been playing around with a few ideas and I've got some that I really love. I definitely want to do something food/cooking/health related with my SMT.
Something that would reward food creators would be awesome!!
I'm also open to discussing SMT ideas in the comments below, let me know what you're excited about and what ideas you've come up with!! I'd love to talk with you about them!

@galleani, I think these SMTs will be able to boost the platform like make us more visible and somehow help the community in getting more rewards and hence the community will be able to grow. I cant wait for March 2019. Thanks for your thoughtful post out of your routine normal blogging posts.
I agree and I also think the rise in price will help with more people being interested in earning the rising post rewards as well!! Me too!
