LG introduced three new robots from the CLOi family, including Serving Robot, Porter Robot, and Shopping Cart Robot
LG continues to expand its own line of robots and after a trio of home helpers, a guide and cleaner introduced the waiter, the porter and the shopping cart for purchases. New robots from the CLOi family have traditionally been presented for the company as part of the CES 2018 exhibition.
In LG noted that the new robots are specifically designed for commercial use in hotels, airports, supermarkets and other places of congestion. During the creation of new models, the real experience gained during testing of Airport Guide Robot robots and Airport Cleaning Robot robots at the Seoul International Airport was used. In turn, assistant Hub Robot was tested in Korea's banks, and all three of the above models plus Lawn Mowing Robot robotic lawn mower now also belong to the LG CLOi family.
As it is easy to guess, the main purpose of Servant Robot is the delivery of food, drinks and other orders in hotels and airports. The customer can only make an order, after which the robot can deliver it to the customer in a special compartment 24 hours a day. After the delivery, Serving Robot returns to the base, where it will wait for the next order.
Robot-porter Porter Robot will be able not only to transport the heavy luggage of the hotel client to the room or from the room to the taxi, but also to make a quick check-in / check-out, as well as accept payment for the number and services, which will relieve the administrator-people.
The task of the shopping cart robot Shopping Cart Robot is even simpler - it will gently follow the buyer through the supermarket hall and transport the selected purchases. In this case, the robot will be able to scan the barcode and display the cost of the goods on the screen, output the programmed purchase list by the user and lead the buyer to the shelf where the desired product is located. In addition to the robot interface, the interaction with Shopping Cart Robot is also carried out using a mobile application for the smartphone.
LG noted that the CLOi robot family is being developed in parallel with the products of the ThinQ line, which includes consumer electronics and home products with artificial intelligence support.
