The security cameras will show that I actually laughed out loud when I saw what they'd done to this poor old cake.

They never sold that $75 cake at the grocery store by my house, and instead of doing the right thing and just eating the damn thing, the bakers simply changed the plastic flower from autumn sunflower to plastic Christmas poinsettias, and then they craftily dumped some rock candy across the top of the whole 'Old Stump With Flowers and White Cake On Top' style cake.

It's The Same Cake!

The icing is getting all crusty and dry, and it's a little beat up now, but this is definitely the same cake. They're still asking 75 bucks for it:

It's been sitting in that display case for about 6 weeks now, but it's been given a new name and identity, and now it's going to be sitting there til 2019 no doubt. It'll be a public health hazard soon.

I've really come to like this awful-looking cake that nobody wants. It started out as a hilarious joke, but now it's just become sad. Like Sleeping Beauty, the Old Stump with Flowers and Inexplicable White Cake on Top cake needs a prince to free her from that glass sarcophagus in the neighborhood grocery store's deli bakery.

Next, 'Old Stump with Happy New Year 2019 Theme and Inexplicable White Cake On Top with Colored Sprinkles' cake, $75.99 will be the thing, and if they still don't sell it, I bet it ends up in the dumpster behind the store, as mandated by law.
