Laughlight

This is a new segment of a show which will come out every once in a while. In it, I will promote underrated comedians who I think deserve a lot more recognition. It will come out probably once a month and I'll string together some clips of their bits in a ~10 min video.

I'm doing this in order to promote their work and try to bring them more into the mainstream spotlight as these are all comedians that had a profound impact on my perception of the world. They are people who took all the bullshit in life and turned into thought-provoking laughter. And if that doesn't deserve recognition, I don't know what does.

So without further ado, here's this month's Laughlight comedian:

Steve Hughes is an Australian-born comedian. He's an old-school metalhead with hard-hitting, truth-bomb comedy that is as funny as it is enlightening.

He's been on the scene since the 90s, starting his career in various open-mic clubs in Australia before moving to Ireland. Before that he had a short career in music, playing as a drummer for various metal bands in the 80s (Slaughter Lord, Presto, Naxzul, Eternum).

He's performed at various well known venues such as The Apollo and The Comedy Store as well as recording several specials like Big Issues and While It's Still Legal as well as many others around the globe.
