A Minnie Funny True Story

in #funny6 years ago

Hello everyone how are you?

Yesterday my cousin came from Australia so naturally i had to meet up with him and guide him through the alleys of the city. He has brought a friend with him that was his first time visiting my country. I gathered our common cousins that i could find and show them around. My cousin's friend wanted to try a traditional dish so we went to a restaurant.

The restaurant was crowed both outside and inside but we chose inside for the air condition and cause it was a bit better than outside. After siting and checking on the menu i realized that the waiters there, were at my age and that we were the only native ones, aside from my cousin's friend. All the other people were tourists.

So a waiter approached us and asked us what we wanted to order. I always am polite to waiters because I've been in their shoes for a sort period of time and i have many friends doing the same thing, so i know how to talk to them and make the feel at ease. I did exactly that and i used a little bit of my sense of humor. ( sadly it mostly work on guys :P )

I wasn't that hungry so i ordered a dish that i would share with another of my cousins and the waiter told me that this dish will gonna take sometime because a lot of tourists ordered it. I used again some jokes i don't recall what exactly, told him that i would wait and literally 1 minute later my dish came :p. When the waiter brought it so fast he told me ''i stole it'' meaning basically that the dish was meant for a tourist but ''fuck them, let them wait'' :P

He quickly explained that some tourists are disrespectful and think the waiters as slaves so they will receive the same attitude something that is true and i also know from my waiter-friends. 5 minutes later we all had our dishes. After we ate we paid and left him a tip as well as thanking him for his quick service. Apparently both of these gestures ''touched'' the waiter end gave us a free beer.

My cousin and his friend didn't know why we got offered the free beer and asked me so my reply was:

"Because we are pretty cool :P ''

The Moral of the story is:

RESPECT THE WAITERS

Sort:

I would say, respect and patiente with all the working guys and girls!

I stole it!

and to top things off : A Free Beer!!! Lucky you! :)

Ever since I read an article about how waiters or chefs spits on the food on some rude customers who comes back after, I started to be more respectful to them. lol

hahaha i know some similar stories too :P

Something that i learned throughout my life: "we don't get anything by creating enemies, but we can get the world by creating friends"... back in 2016 when i went to a festival i was able to be friends with 3 of the people that worked at different bars, one i got free booze, the other i got free Redbull and the other free tobacco, since i don't smoke i gave it to my friends, but well, i got free booze for almost 10 days, without paying!

see everything will eventually work out well. If the other people are just normal and you speak to them in a good way making some jokes that's all that matters. I remember when i was a lot younger and went first time vacation with friends in an island because of the way i spoke to the waiters each time my drink was on the house :P

genika prepei na iparxei allilosebasmos.

Waiters are the first and last line of food. If you don't want to wait forever, have your food spat into or be given the wrong order, then you should be treating them like a golden goose.

Unfunny experience I've had though, I was nice to the waiters of one resto but it turned out they forgot my order. I waited for an hour, seeing similar dishes pass by but my order never came. Suffice to say I'm never going back there again.

i think both the waiters and the customers must respect each other. They have to respect that you give your money to enjoy a meal or something and even giving extra money to them as a tip and we have to respect that they are just doing their jobs and we don't have to be rude

@filotasriza3 just looking around Steemit and saw your post. It's so true that waiters need to be respected. Although I have not been a waiter before but I am always polite to the waiters and never know when a waiter becomes a friend! Upvote your post, good one to read. :)

thanks a lot for your comment! i think being kind and respectful to the waiters will only lead to something good. Either making a new friend, having fast service even getting a free dish.

True dat! Hahhaa always can meet new friends in unexpected places and ways :D
