Steemit Marketing Plan FAIL
I must admit that I am quite disappointed about the two marketing plan announcements. To me, the first update basically read “we shall be creating a marketing plan”, while the second one stated “we will ask the community to create a marketing plan with us”; those are two updates that basically said nothing.
Apart from that, I think the worse part of the updates is the cover picture with the face of the marketing guy and some big letters that read MARKETING UPDATE, I mean marketing material should be well designed, this looks like it was done on Paint.
I actually looked Mitchell up on Linkedin and he does have a pretty impressive CV, he has worked in a lot of famous blockchain companies, so I will give him the benefit of a doubt and lets hope that the actual plan will help us attract more users.
Because I did not want to create a huge rant post about the steemit marketing, I created this meme to lighten the mood a little.
All marketing is good marketing in a sense. The platform needs it from all angles, good and bad. Obviously when it comes from the top a professional format, image and plan would go a long way especially when seeking growth and faith in a crypto and a new technology. It all comes down to perception and credibility. Trust and faith. This is earned.
couldn't agree more... I know my usual tight frame shots aren't the best... but that wasn't a good way to introduce a marketing plan with that type of video. Just like you.. I'll give benefit of doubt and hope they have something truly impressive to reveal

Chitty, you voiced an opinion I had in me deep inside. And now that the secret is outside loud and clear I might define my opinion on what the market plan is going for. We have had community marketing efforts before, for example, one steemian took on to display steemit on big boards next to highways - and other steemians, who deemed that as an action that benefitted us all, voted him up, which in following rewarded him for his action. There was no board meetings, or an order to execute a plan. Just some random steemian seeing an opportunity to benefit the whole community by doing something. This is the process that the marketing team is going after, making it simpler and easier for others to recreate. I hope.
And you earned a new follower this post, steemit is all about being a uncensored platform to discuss on. And that also means being open to critique, no matter who you are. Those people who dare to do so, I am here to support.
patience. I know you won't be disappointed. Some really cool stuff is coming, but you need hype and buy time while you are creating stuff that you can't show yet.
