FungiFriday - Chips lovers
All the smaller alleys were filled with those big bark chips to prevent grass from growing. The weather was warm, lots of rain, the chips were soaked and that was it - grow mushrooms grow!
But just a few stems away there was a little family tucked between larger peaces. And along as I walked I saw more and more of them. Nice place to live I guess.
I hope many of you will join as there are only 2 simple rules:
- when Friday comes post your own, original photo/drawing/art/food/anything-at-all of any type of fungi (yes, I will check and report stolen images!)
- add #FungiFriday tag (it doesn't have to be your first tag)

Interesting lbm (little brown mushroom) they look a bit dried out, harder to id that way. The wood chip paths are good hunting grounds for mushrooms. I think it helps the mycelium get to the material easier. Unfortunately i stay away from eating any mushrooms on wood bark paths since the bark might be treated with herbicides.
Oh I would never eat those! I just shoot :)
A wonderful mushroom discovery! I often have some pop up in the bark mulch around my yard. Great photos!

Very interesting and weird looking mushrooms, great photographs, especially on the first shot the mushroom looks incredible.

The fungus only grows in moist areas and is exposed to direct sunlight
They actually don't like direct sun. They will dry to a crisp...
