A tutorial on how to make an attractive project presentation

in #fundition6 years ago (edited)
Hello there lovely people! Fundition team hopes you are enjoying your week, we are on Tuesday and there is still a lot of work to be done until Friday comes and we step into a relaxing weekend mode. In today's post, we will help you understand what are the main things you have to keep in mind when creating a project on Fundition.io and guide you to make your presentation attractive which will help you raise the funds needed. Before we start, have you checked out the OnGame yet? There is a new post about it that we have happily resteemed. You can find it in our feed or just click here: Presenting OnGame - A New Era Of Gaming Starts Now to read all about it.

Ok, let us get back to our tutorial. Before creating a project on Fundition, PLEASE have the things from this post in mind. We know that you have important reasons for creating a project and asking for funding, be humble enough to take some practical advice on how to do it properly. We are sure that you will benefit from everything you learn today and be even more successful in your work.

The first and the biggest mistake you can make when writing any professional text is to use bad grammar. Your project on Fundition should be considered and viewed as professional. You are asking people for money, accept the severity of the situation. People need to take you seriously and see your project as something that is valuable enough to receive their support.

Write in English, if you know English...

Fundition.io allows you to write your project in 19 languages. Please use the one you are good at. We understand that writing in English will get your post to more people but what good will it do if those English speaking people cannot understand "your" version of English. Of course, typos can always happen. We are all human and those tiny mistakes are normal, do not worry about those or stress too much. Here, to make you feel better: typos is often made. See what we did there? Now that we have shown you that typos can be made by anyone it is important to know the difference between one mistake and a completely unreadable text with a grammar mistake in every sentence.

Do you want people to know
what your project is about?

You do not have to be an expert on languages to be clear enough for people to understand what you wrote. The success of your project depends on if people will understand what is it about or not. Proofread your text and then proofread it again. There are many tools you can use, we recommend that you try Grammarly. It is a simple extension for your browser that will underline your mistakes and suggest correct words. It is free to use and simple to handle. There are many other tools you can try too.

Our other advice is to get better at English and perfect yourself in using it. There is no better way to get better at a language than by using it. Read books in English and talk to people.

There are two ways to write any text, including the one that will be your project presentation on Fundtion.io. One way is to format the text as you write it and the other is to first write the text and then format it. We can not tell you which is better because that depends on you and your personal preferences on how to do things. Whichever way you use is fine because the more important part is that you are, in fact, using it.

Emphasize the important things
and use titles for creating structure

When you are writing your project on Fundition.io, use the formatting tools that are at your service. You can make your text bold, italic, underlined, change its size and alignment, and even add tables. You can use all of that or none of it but try to remember (and we will talk about that some more later) that people are visual beings. The visual presentation of your post needs to look attractive. In order for you to achieve that, make your titles what separates different topics you are talking about, use bold text to emphasize a certain point and make your tables clean. Do not be afraid to justify your text and use sources and references where needed.

Your text needs to be precise,
and easy to follow.

When formatting your text, ask yourself two questions; "What do I want my reader to find important?" and "Am I making myself clear enough?" Since you will be talking about a lot of things in that text and we know that you want your future funders to know it all, make it easier for them and beak up the text to make it lighter on the eyes with some titles (headers) that will create structure. Those things, that you find the most crucial, format to be bigger or at least bold. People like tables and seeing data aligned. It produces trust in your plans so when listing what the funds will be used for and in what amount, consider putting that information in a table.

The best way to see if your text is clear enough is to give it to a friend to read and tell you what are the parts that he or she does not understand. Ask for help and feedback until you are completely satisfied with what you have written.

Images are extremly important in any presentation. Our sense of sight is the one we use the most and rely on the most. The truth is, people are "judging a book by its covers" and if you want to attract people to donate to your project, they need to read it first. Do you want to hear a little secret? Your title and your main photo will be the key deciding factors if people will read what you wrote or not. If you want people to read your project, attract them with a shiny photo and an intriguing title. That is some marketing 101 for you right there.

Use approprite images

You can add images and videos to your project presentation on Fundition.io, we encourage you to do so. Posting just plain text rarely works. The images that you will use need to be appropriate when it comes to their size and what is on them. For example, if you are creating a project of supporting some kids, you will not put pictures of motorbikes in that text and if you have a project about your art, show us that art or at least yourself. When it comes to personal health problems, we are sensitive and emphatic with your troubles but please know that some images are not appropriate. We may know that some child has a purulent tooth and needs funds for a dentist but we really, really, really do not need to see the picture of an actual pus and mucus.

Use images that
will add value to your project.

As we have already said, images are important. Let us emphasize that some more... IMAGES ARE IMPORTANT. Use those that are related to your project and for which you have a proper license to use. Be careful that you abide by all the copyright rules and that your images are not too large. If we need to scroll to see the full image, it is too big. The visual presentation of your project should also have your logo or a symbol, important message, motto or a catchphrase, something that people will recognize you by. Those are all elements that a good brand has.
