8 years ago today, Fukushima area of Japan was hit by earthquake and tsunami.
My heart goes to all the people and animals who passed away, and who are still suffering today.

We like to pretend as if Fukushima nuclear energy plants are under control while they dump contaminated water into the sea, open bagged contamibated soil to farm and make roads, pretend as if it’s safe to return to the radiated home.
I suspect that was the reason why Tokyo was chosen to host the Olympics for 2020. To pretend Japan has recovered while we still have tens of thousands evacuees who still don’t have permanent home.

We need to realize reconstruction won’t be possible when our planet is contaminated. It’s time we learn lesson from Fukushima disaster.

No more Nukes! Peace.

I had the joy of working at a class 2 Nuclear facility last spring (The Infamous Hanford site). I am kidding when I say "Joy". Nuclear power has enormous potential, however too many people are complacent around radiation, that's my observation. I dont trust humanity with it in large scale, but small scale experimental I think it's worth the small risk. Then the waste issue, last I checked nuclear power plants were not even economically viable in most places because of this.
