Gas Station Behind the Scenes (Underground)

A gas station in my area started construction to add diesel to their selection at the pump. I just happened to be around to see most of the progress that took place during this build. Not too many people know what the layout is when they are filling their vehicles with gas. How is it getting to the vehicle? Where is it coming from? Below is a shot of the storage tanks just underneath the drive pad of the station.

There looks to be three tanks buried in the gravel. One for regular gas, one for premium and one for diesel. There is probably mid grade storage in there somewhere as well. Notice the risers with the gray electrical conduit attached to them, my educated guess would be that is the level indicating device for the tanks when the trucker is filling them or could be a level indication for the operator inside the station to give notice when the tanks are getting low on fuel.

As I look at this project I wonder why they wouldn't also be installing super charges for electrical vehicles. The technology is available but I think its use at the pump still needs to be approved. This next picture shows the transfer pipes from the tanks to the pumps:

Pretty straight forward. All flow measurement will be installed into the drive up units when complete. It would be interesting to find out what style of flow meter is used to track the fuel from the tanks to the vehicle. At the bottom left you can see the gray conduit that will hold the communication cables that lead back to the stations operator.
