Fruits and Veggies Monday - Fruits for Good luck
Happy new year to all lovely participants of #fruitsandveggiesmonday. May this new year be full of happiness and peaceful year to everyone. I am personally excited to participate to my favorite first #fruitsandveggiesmonday of the year, and always thank you to @lenasveganliving for creating this wonderful challenge.
It is my pleasure to share my traditional custom which is displaying 12 round fruits for Goodluck before new year's eve.
Almost all household in the philippines practice this traditional customs. 12 round fruits represents each month of the year and round represents money (coins). It is believed to bring prosperity and good luck in the household. This custom/practice are influenced by chinese ancestry and its still very much alive until now.
It doesn’t have to be all fruits if you wish to, it can be something else as long as its’ round and edible. It could be garlic, onion or vegetable.
Here are some of the fruits displayed from my friend house during new year’s celebration.
After new year celebration, we made a big fruit salad, perfect after a post heavy meal from the celebration.

Whatca lovely tradition 😃 because it started with healthy fruits to eat 😉 while we have no tradition here in Indonesia, just gathering at crowded place to enjoy the entertainment like live music or else😊 but in some communities celebrate it with grilled fish or barbeque.
