Fruits and Veggies Monday: Fruit Trees everywhere

in #fruitsandveggiesmonday5 years ago (edited)

Hello to you all, hope you are all very good. I am so happy to go back at Steemit after a long break and joined my favorite #fruitsandveggiesmonday by @lenasveganliving and hosted by @plantstoplanks.

So, please come join me as we explore my rural surroundings in my hometown, San Fabian, Province of Pangasinan, Philippines.

In a Rural town where the place is green, Mango Trees are common. In the fields, inside a compound or just everywhere. Mangoes has different types of varieties, they differ in taste too but all of them are really sweet and mouth-watering.

Since mango is a common tree, we expect that when it bears fruit, it pours abundantly. In the last season of mangoes, fruits are being given for free.

Banana Tree is another typical tree among Rural place. It's all over the place, even beside a road, just like these.

Another cultivated Fruit tree is Cacao Tree. Small enterprise farmers supply there cacao fruits to manufacturers or processors who is into big business such cocoa mass and cocoa powder.

Nowadays, Cocoa is in big demand globally, not only for Cafes and Restaurant offering chocolate drinks, it is also being in demand for wellness and beauty.

This is a Resilient Bamboo Tree. Another typical in Rural. Did you know that Bamboo can be eaten? Yes, Bamboo shoots though, They are very tasty when cooked. It's a versatile type of vegetable with a low key of cooking methods.

The very first process is you would need to boil the Bamboo shoots to soften them up, then cook them the way you want. Either can be reboil again and mix with other vegetable, or a Bamboo spring roll or Sauteed Bamboo.

Another wonderful Fruit tree i'll introduce you is a Coconut Dwarf Tree, This was planted by my father, it is 15 feet high.

This tree never gets tired of bearing fruits, new fruits and blooming flowers. The good thing about it besides the refreshing drinks is that you don't need to climb life threatening heights to get the fruits, literally just picked them out. That's why it's called dwarf coconut, i guess :)

We are actually spoiled in coconut water almost everyday. We scooped out the meat when it's available from the shell then mix it with coconut water.

The younger the coconut, the less coconut meat it creates and when if it does, it's really soft. And the older the coconut, the harder the meat and less coconut water it produce.

I hope you enjoyed all the collection of pictures from my village.

More Fruit trees and exotic fruits and vegetables to show you for next post.

I would like to say thank you to @lenasveganliving, @plantstoplanks and to all who support @fruitsandveggiesmonday, Thanks for being here, Rain or shine.

Till next time.

Thank you @steemitmamas. More power !

They are all my favorites! Well, except I haven't try the bamboo shoots yet, but I heard about them and I would love to try. All these produce are full of nutrients especial when you can pick them from the trees. A person could survive just on eating those alone. Truly amzing! 🌽🌴🥥🌴🍌🌴🥭

It is. Thank you so much @lenasveganliving. Truly, you can survive there. In the province where we are, folks are generous, most of the time you don't need to buy them, just ask permission and they will give you or pluck it yourself.
Blessings! Have a lovely day😊

That is amazing Dear Sheryl and good to know! Maybe I will visit someday 🌴💚🌴

My favorite fruit is mango, and here in Venezuela we call Banana Tree Topocho, I use it as a base for my breakfasts.

Mango is the best. We do boiled cardava banana for breakfast or snack. It really is delicious. Thank you for taking time. Cheers!

I use vegetables in all my meals. Thanks for sharing.

Same here, nice way to add fibers :)
Thank you too. Happy weekend!
