Hello Beautiful people. It’s Monday again and feel privilege to join #fruitsandveggiesmonday by @lenasveganliving and now hosted by @plantstoplanks. Thank you so much for this community and for the people behind this wonderful initiative.

We got Calamansi or we called it as Philippine Lemon. It’s taste is a mildly sour and doesn’t change color, though it change to mild yellow when its overly ripe. Just like yellow lemon we used it for many purposes, from adding to dishes, cleaning or to make it as juice.

In front of our house, standing tall with lots fruits called Tamarind tree. When ripe, Tamarind fruit is sweet and sour in flavor, It’s fruits looks like a bean pod shape that falls off the ground when it’s ripe, If not, those unripe fruit can be used for cooking such as sour soups. This is also used for herbal and contains medicinal properties.

I have lots of memories of this Tamarind tree, It was there before we were born, and it’s still there till present produces hundreds fruits per year. So if i am 33 years old, It was probably more than 35 years old tree. Lol

We have a limited space in our compound but we my father still manage to put up some medium size trees and fruits in our surroundings. There he was so fond with his medium size coconut tree which he puts in the side.

Last but not least, Take a look at this Bilimbi tree which is a family of star fruit or carambola fruit tree. When Bilimbi tree produces fruits it pours, It boast and it impress you. This is a very sour fruit when eaten raw. This is also used for cooking as another alternative for sour soup aside from the tamarind fruit.

We also have vegetable plants and that's for the next time.

Wishing everyone a Happy Monday!

Wow, that Bilimbi tree has tons of fruit! That's one I haven't tried before. Love seeing everything you have growing. I almost missed the lemons but then when I looked back at the picture I found some of the fruit. I've seen a few people using tamarind lately, so I'm going to have to try some soon!
