FRUITS AND VEGGIES MONDAY | My Sunday Marketing

Who would have thought that each trip I make to the local wet market on Sunday could be so interesting. Now, that I know my way around the market, I get to spend more time to survey the produce that is sold. Most of the time, I'm always rushing in and out due to the time available in hand.

I'll spend approximately 1 hour and then I'll need to rush home and freshen up because Sunday service starts at 9.30am. Even after several weeks of coming to this market, I always find something unexpected and unusual sold.

All the fruits and vegetables sold are really fresh and it's amazing to see so many different varieties, some common to me while others are very new and peculiar.

I do stick to those familiar to me since I'm only cooking for myself, plus I do have very limited kitchen utensils, as such, I tend to keep to steaming or boiling the vegetables instead.

For fruits, this is something different. It's like a combination of apple and pear. The inside texture is like pear, white and crunchy. While the outside looks exactly like an apple.

This is one of my favorite fruit here, since it's easy to buy. These 6 pieces only cost me VND10,000 and for the vegetables, it's approximately VND5,000 to VND 10,000.

With VND 50,000 there's so much vegetables we can buy from the local wet market. That's like USD 2.15 or MYR 9.00.

If one is a vegetarian, this is HEAVEN !!
