Teaching my daughter to make vegan pizza
Hi everyone it's fruitsandveggiesmonday and this is not my entry, but would have been, I obviously can't enter because I am the judge this week. My daughter has been begging for pizza so I thought she would like to learn how to make it herself. We made two, one with vegan cheese and another with nutritional yeast flakes. I obviously had to help a bit because she is only eleven and a bit scared of the burning herself, but she did do most of it, I just told her what to do.
So first up we made the dough.
Then the part I think she enjoyed, kneading the dough.
Then we went and done a little gardening while waiting for the dough to rise. Planting peas.
My peach tree is starting to look good with the good weather we having.
And the cherry tree is also starting up.
After a little bit in the garden the dough was looking ready for action.
I fried up some tofu to make some vegan rashers, just added soy sause and liquid smoke.
Then she rolled out the dough.
Made some tomato sauce with fresh chopped basil, garlic tomatoes pasta with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Covered the base with tomato sauce.
Placed on the vegan rashers.
Then vegan cheese.
And lastly the mushrooms.
The smaller pizza was the same but it got nutritional yeast flakes on top.
I baked them and we gobbled them up.
And that was an awesome time spent with my munchkin, she was quite proud of herself, it is important to make veganism interesting for kids, because it is really hard for them. Thanks for stopping by.
Looks very tasty indeed
Your daughter is a good cook, congratulations!
Thanks, she is good, and was very proud of herself
🤗
Lovely! Hungry for pizza now.. :p
Haha 😂, thanks @mydailyvegan
Awesome job papa! You can never go wrong with pizza, especially when it is prepared with loved ones!
Thanks @plantstoplanks, yeah you are right there.
wow what great father you are.
i grow up in a meat family and i was since my childhood the only veggie there. i wish more parents show their kids the healthy lifestyle of vegan food! resteemed
Thanks @lotusfleur, it is difficult for children to be vegan, other children call her a veggie freak, but I try and show her that it is actually cool to be vegan, and her favourite pop star is vegan, so that helps too.
That's sweet and fantastic, a quality time and a delicious pizza! all in one :)
Thanks, yeah we had a great time.
Luv the idea of teaching veganism to the kids 😉 and Pizza will always welcome on my plate ... but I should put the mushroom somewhere else😉 I ate everything but mushy.
Luv your post as always @gguy773
Thanks @cicisaja, oh no, no mushrooms 😯, I can't imagine living with out it 😆
This is so cool! Great job and being a Dad, Dad. These are the memories your daughter will cherish for the rest of her life, even if she doesn’t know it yet. And the pizza only looks delish too.
Thanks, it was good, we had a great day.
You’ll remember this stuff forever too :). Dad’s are the best.
@gguy773, it is always nice to teach the children and grandchildren to cook. Cooking is a great skill to have.
Yeah I agree, especially if you hungry lol 😂
