RE: Fruitsandveggiesmonday by @lenasveganliving : Gardening

Wow it all looks so good! The veggies are so nice and tender when you boughht them. Will they have anough time to grow before winter?
You could also get some lettuce seeds and sow between the rows. It will grow very fast and but the time the other veggies are big you will already eat it :) and you don't have to wait for it to be big, you can pick the whole young lettuce plants and it is whole :D

The fence is against the rabbits?

Yes, it is, almost all gardens had a fence, so we wanted one as well \☺/. The lettuce is going to be seeded today or later this week. My mom also has kale and leek plants for us, have to pick them up in Maastricht.

Ohh it all sounds delish!
You can leave the leeks in the ground for the winter and they will be still good in spring ;)

\☺/ And harvest the kale as soon as it has had a frosty night! \☺/ I love kale! I made spaghetti with kale, Roma tomatoes and mushrooms yesterday, leftovers for today :D

Ohhhhh sounds good! We used to grow in a garden I remember but I don't remember what for. My mum didn't cook it. It had such pretty leaves we used to use it for plates decorations and it always had lots of caterpillars on it! After the summer chickens we eating it :p They loved it!

Why it needs a frosty night? Loses bitterness or something?

The cold increases the sugar content in the leaves of kale and the softening cell structure makes it easier to digest.

Ahhh I didn't know :)
