Demanding 100% transparency in Government & large Corporation - Or stop dealing with them !
Open Ledger policy on everyone you deal with. Why pay $100.00 for a $3.00 product - How are prices set in the market ?
Waste in Government is rampant, I could write all day about people I know first hand ( working or worked ) in Government.
Everything from a free for all ( encouraged theft of material ), To 1 fellow pointing out a Million dollar savings by Purchasing a drug from a cheaper competitor, Tax department seized all his assets the next day, while investigating him. He lost his job and wife during the process.
This my friends is not incompetence or mismanagement as we are led to believe. It's very managed ! And how they keep people in line that know the score !
If the Government is for Us & by Us, Paid for by Us, but is in a constant state of Financially Imploding, why can't your average or not so average citizen go over the books and help solve it ?
And publicly post their findings to lets say Right here on steemit.com to start a discussion.
If you at any level work for the people, Check comes from Public funds Your accounts should be open ledger as well.
From a Garbage man to Head of the EPA or local MLA.
Just like here @ steemit, the Whales get heavily scrutinized on where their coin comes from & how they distribute it, So should anyone, anywhere who shares our collective wealth. Be it a Town, State or Country.
If the guy who delivers my mail, Just bought a mansion, can I know how ? You get the point.
If I give the Clinton Foundation $10,000.00 earmarked for Haiti relief ( can I watch it get there ?
On and on.....
If my bank or Government loans 5 Million to someone to start a Solar Company, that doesn't even own or rent a shop, but only has a desk and telephone somewhere, can I follow the money to see why they went bankrupt ?
If I buy a nice pair of say $300.00 running shoes for my kid, can I trace the material, labor and shipping costs from Indonesia, only to find out ( they got to the store for $5.00 ?
And at that point decide if they are worth it.
I read a book years ago, I forget the name, but in closing suggested that this kind of information on packages would solve the gouging practices, and allow an average man to run a fair business, and be rewarded for it.
I could go on and on for hours....But my chores are calling....
In closing, the price you pay for goods, are set by your tolerance level, not by whats fair, And all heavily regulated ( with your tax dollars ) small Businesses ( You or Me ) , making it unfeasible startup a company and compete.
While the Big Boys, Just throw cash at the right people, to turn a blind eye on them, And beef up regulation on anyone that might compete with them.
Nuff said for now, lets put some pressure on the right people, And start demanding these things.
Get a movement going.....
How does one get people caught in the main stream way of living to see this? They are too caught up buying cheap junk made over seas while turning up their noses at far better quality items made by locals because it is more important for them to throw away their money on trips to Disneyland and Vegas, buy high priced brand named junk coffee, and purchase homes too big for them that they never actually live in because both parents are working full time and the kids are farmed out at day cares, public schools, and activities all day. Ah, but I rant. Nice piece, thank you!
A very valid rant indeed :-)
They where trained from birth to act that way, shopping is some peoples greatest pleasure, I've always preferred time off, So if my pay doubled I'd only work half the time, and not buy more stuff LOL. But that's just me.
And reminds my of a blog to write, goes like this :-)
Maybe start this instant
