Freewrite for the first of january with the prompt; Fatality.
My Entry.
She sat in her regular chair in the hospital. She has been sitting on this chair every time they come in for 28 years. Her daughter was a sickle cell patient and in a year they come in at least thrice.( That's a good year for them).
Every time she sits, she goes through a process; she prays her daughter won't be another fatality of the day and then freezes. She freezes her mind and her thoughts. She can't bear all the things that run through them whenever she brings her in. So, for a moment, she's a statue. To be awaken when the Dr. Calls to her.
Today. Today is different. She's not sitting. She wasn't able to. Her thoughts are not frozen. She stares at the door where her daughter was in labour. The last 9months had been unpredictable. They were at hospital every other week. Her friends told her either her daughter or her grandson might not survive this. She tried so had to stop thinking. At last she closed her eyes and sat on the floor waiting on the Dr.
Finally, the Dr walked to where she was and said something.
Now, she's having another thought; She's thinking of preparing her daughter's favourite food and also wants to change the colour in the baby's room.
