We saw some interest in the @freewritehouse Beta Readers Group when I announced it last month.

Now we’re ready to take it one step further and open up registrations!

Please use the Google form linked below to register. You’ll be asked if you want to be a writer or reader - and you can sign up for both if you want.

The registration will remain open, so if you come across this post later on, please feel free to add yourself using the form.

Things to know

Readers

You’ll be asked to choose your favorite genres to read. Please only pick the ones you enjoy the most. The best beta readers are ones that really enjoy what they are reading.

For example, my Dad wanted to read the short I just finished. So I let him. He didn’t have much to say about it at all because the only reason he read it was because I wrote it. Science fiction isn’t something he ever reads. As a sci-fi fan, I know we have a different mindset when starting a new book/series than someone who typically reads military adventure/spy novels (his preferred genre).

So though you may want to check all the genres and help your fellow writers at the Freewrite House it’s best if you keep to your favorites.

Writers

You’ll be asked if you have a manuscript or story ready for review, and when you think you’ll want to be reviewed.

Once I get the responses I’ll get in touch about scheduling.

These Steemians mentioned they would be interested:

@sarez
@iamjadeline
@Kaelci
@Shanedustin

@Latino.romano (when we have a spanish version - anyone want to do one?)

I know there are some who avoid Google - and I can't blame them. So if you are one of those but want to register, just let me know in the comments or on Discord (#ntowl9845) and I'll get you a PDF to fill out instead.

Please resteem and share with your various writing communities so we can have enough people to get started!

(Just the kick in the butt needed to stop procrastinating)

Congratulations! This post has been upvoted from the communal account, @minnowsupport, by ntowl from the Minnow Support Project. It's a witness project run by aggroed, ausbitbank, teamsteem, someguy123, neoxian, followbtcnews, and netuoso. The goal is to help Steemit grow by supporting Minnows. Please find us at the Peace, Abundance, and Liberty Network (PALnet) Discord Channel. It's a completely public and open space to all members of the Steemit community who voluntarily choose to be there.

If you would like to delegate to the Minnow Support Project you can do so by clicking on the following links: 50SP, 100SP, 250SP, 500SP, 1000SP, 5000SP.
Be sure to leave at least 50SP undelegated on your account.

This is a great idea. I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. What kind of publishing initiative is this for?

Thanks! Right now we're looking to help writers here on Steem to get ready to self-publish, but we also plan to expand off Steem at some point and then we could help authors of any kind.

Awesome! I'm looking forward to this. I've indie published several books in print and digital. I plan to do some more. I'd love to help.

That's great! Having a published author in the group would be great!

Just what I need, bless the originators of this idea. I have submitted the form.

I will resteem/share this one. I don't think my English is good enough to join, neither is my Internet.

Oh no! @wakeupkitty, my internet is also terrible. S-l-o-w. If you wish, you and I could work one on one? The Turtles!

The turtle & the snail... well who knows we are fast readers LOL

Your English is good enough!!!

Well if you think so

Posted using Partiko Android

Your English is good enough - and we can figure out a way to get the manuscript to you!

If that is possible by e-mail I could give it a try. But it also depends about the time limit February 19 I need to go to hospital

@wakeupkitty this is an ongoing project. When a new manuscript wis available you’ll be notified if it falls into your preferred genre. The you decide if you have the time to be a beta reader for it.

And as a writer you control when you submit your work.

And the exchange of information will be done over email.

So please sign up, you’ll fit right in.

I registered as a reader

Yay!

Just submitted my form. How long of story/manuscript are you looking for?

Whatever you have ready to go. We’ll accept short stories, full length novels and everything in between. The key is that it’s an almost ready manuscript that you want feedback on prior to publishing.

Thanks for signing up!

so you want a link to a google doc here? And must it be a story that has not been posted anywhere yet? Such as story posted here on steem?

Don’t post any links here. We’re still just registering people in the program.

If you have something ready to be reviewed just make sure you say so in the registration (ie. yes to the question if you have something ready)

Once people have had the chance to register I’ll get in touch with everyone about what the next step is.

And as of right now there are no requirements on the story other than it’s final or close to final draft and you want feedback before publishing (assuming most people are self-publishing on Amazon or other platform)
