Consistency, support, goofiness, and openness - for nearly two years, @freewritehouse has been providing these to everyone on Steem.
Every day, Freewrite House posts a topic. Anyone joining spends 5 minutes writing without stopping using that word or phrase. That is your freewrite. Many people post them or revise them and post them. It's a good habit, this writing every day, but more than that, a freewrite often reveals something about the writer, and readers get a glimpse into the mind of the person behind the username. And that is how friendships are born.

We are a sticky organization, and we're getting stickier. Folks stick with us, and stick with Steem! Folks develop a habit of coming to Steem for freewriting, and they stay here. Because of these habits, we've helped turn non-writers in published authors, boost Steem incomes for Venezuelans during their financial crisis, and get lapsed Steemians to return. And we do this, not by promising a huge financial incentive for participants, but with the activities that we offer and the relationships that are built on doing those things together. We are seeking SBI, because we're in this for the long haul, to achieve sustainability for the project and increase our reach.

And why SBI? Because it encourages both sponsor and sponsee to behave like normal human users. SBI offers upvotes to both parties in an equitable fashion, but nothing extreme. It's a very good rate of return, but you only get it if you stay active. And @SteemBasicIncome has real people behind the scenes that can check for abuse.

It really is. If you don't think you're a writer, well, you are. But if you really don't want to do the freewrites, no problem! We love people to read and interact with the people who are writing and each other. In fact, our contests are aimed at readers! Come by and nominate your favorite freewrite sometime! It's a goofy, open crowd. There are only welcoming smiles on our faces, and even that bear in the corner is happy to see you.
