Marco looked around the glass enclosure and wondered what lied beyond the lab he was kept. Marco was the first of a new breed; a prototype they called him, but he felt like he was always a fire breathing dragon.

He heard rumors that he could be dangerous, but they kept him well fed and there seemed to be no reason for him to do anything dangerous.

All he wanted was to use his wings. He could float for a few seconds in the enclosure, but he couldn’t fly, and this caused him distress. He looked at the lab technicians that watched him night and day.

Marco pleaded with his eyes for them to let him out, but they didn’t. They only ran more and more tests.

One day he became hostile to his keepers. They sounded alarms and equipped themselves with weapons, but Marco had enough of his tight cage, and wanted to leave this place.

He jumped up and down with a fierce stomp and rattled the glass which started to break. He took a deep breath and blew fire from his jaws which melted the glass into tiny shards.

The others looked at him with terror, but Marco meant them no harm. He only wanted to be free.
