Maven Myers looked at her father, Dr. Richard Myers, a renowned professor of Biology.

In his prime, he was strong, assertive kind and dependable. The once constant in Maven's life was her father.

But now the 72 year old professor's mind was literally fading away, like sand through an hourglass. His mind was slowly deteriorating. He didn't remember her name nor the name Lucy, his soulmate of 40 years, her mother who passed away five years earlier.

She woke up with renewed faith because, today he asked for an apricot. Apricot was his favorite fruit. Her earliest memory of her father was an apricot. The refrigerator was always stocked with apricot fruit, apricot jam because that's what he enjoyed.

And today he asked for an apricot. She rushed to the store to get apricot fruit and jam.
