Remembering Daddy
https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/weekend-freewrite-1-6-2018-single-prompt-option
After I retired from the United States Postal Service in 2013, I ran into some old members of the Gateway Coin Club who turned me on to the meetings that take place twice a month.
I have always collected coins but have really never completed a set. I wanted to collect something different, so I started collecting coins dated 1910, my daddy's birth year.
I decided to purchase one of the more expensive 1910 dated coins, a graded Saint Gaudens $20 gold piece.
As you can see from the photo, it is one of the most beautiful gold coins available in 1910.
Now, every time I see it in my collection, I think of my daddy. Which is a very good thing. 😘

Lovely @wonderwop! Are you going to collect a coin for each of your father's milestones and memories that you've shared?
Today I'm performing as a Marianne marionette. Frolicking stringless as I bring today's prompt to you.

Thank you for the kind words @brisby and thank you for helping maw.
Nice story.
Thank you @meepsy my parents were 1910 & 1921 two of the toughest years to collect. So whenever I find something dated those years, at a good price, I usually jump on it.
That is a great idea.
Awesome coins! I'm glad they bring you good memories :) I'm fairly new to freewriting so feel free to check out my latest post : https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mel1ss/day-79-prompt-books-5-minute-freewrite-challange
I really like this one. I'm from the UK, so I find this interesting to see your coin.
Old coins are great, aren't they? Thanks for sharing. 😁
What a great coin!! Enjoy it.
