Junior

Growing up in a military family, we were stationed in many different cities around the world.

When we needed to go to the hospital, we never saw the same doctors. We only saw the doctors that were stationed at the base, at the time of our appointment.

When I was around thirteen, I had to go to the doctor for a check-up with my mom and dad.

The nurse had taken my vitals and measurements and I was waiting for the doctor to come into the room.

He came in with my chart and looked up at my mom and asked " your son smokes two packs of cigarettes at day?"

My mom, I her thick Italian accent said " what are you talking about? my son doesn't smoke."

She looks at the chart and says "this is my husband's records, my son is junior." He had the wrong chart.

After that visit, we always picked up my chart before going to our appointments.

I guess some kids do start early, but that would have been a massive habit! At least he noticed and thought to ask, I suppose. That could have added some confusion in the future if your records got messed up here and there!

That’s hilarious! As an Army brat, I remember how a carton of cigarettes cost $2 at the PX. They made a nice gift to civilian family members, as I recall. (Fortunately, none of them died of lung cancer. :( )
