Day 283: 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday-Prompt: old maid
Her tears she could not hide,
She died an old maid, asking herself
Why she never tried.
"I don't mind." she lied,
She died an old maid, asking herself
Why her soul mate had died.
In her deck of life,
But she was the one, holding the card
Never to be his wife.
Sadly forced to abide,
She died an old maid, as her last tear dried
Gripping their passionate ride.
Congratulations! You were featured in this week's Freewrite Favorites! Thank you so much for joining us and keep up the awesome freewriting!
Yay! Thanks so much! : )
You can be bridesmaid many times, bride only once
You can be the fun aunt, and send them off when done
Being the wife, she could have brought out the guns
Stuck with this last line, but it was fun :)
HaHa! I love your poem @kaerpediem! Thank you for that and the prompt too. : )
Poor old maid she was once called a lady
but then she swallowed a fly and thought
she'd die so she changed it back to maid
and got paid! lol
Love your writing @whatisnew! 💞 📝
Your words reminded me of a old poem
of the old lady who swallowed a fly
That was a fun poem! : ) I have never heard that one before so thanks for that! : )
Oh, I am so happy to hear that you like what I write. You are too kind @shasta. : )
