Day 146: 5 Minute Freewrite-Wednesday-Prompt: monkey

Michelle was a bank teller for the drive-thru and she always had lollipops for the kids, and dog biscuits for the dogs. She had to pay for these treats but she didn't mind. Smiling faces was all that she wanted in return.
Mrs. Ray was a new customer and you can imagine how surprised Michelle was to see a monkey sitting in the back seat. It looked real, but she wasn't sure. She took extra time with this transaction and kept glancing up to see if the monkey made any movement. Mrs. Ray said, "Do you like my monkey? Say hello to George and please give him a lollipop." She was upset that it wasn't banana flavored, returned it and asked for a banana. She was livid that Michelle didn't have a banana to give to George. Michelle said, "Even if that monkey was real, I wouldn't be able to put a banana through the tube."
The next day, Mrs. Ray returned only to tell Michelle that she and her husband would be filing a complaint with the bank. She heard her say, "Don't worry George. That mean lady will have a banana for you next time."
Her next customer drove up to the window and Michelle started laughing because the man was wearing a big yellow hat. He sent a check in to be cashed and when Michelle looked at his name, she couldn't control her laughter. His name was Hans Ray. Michelle thought, "This can't be happening! A storybook just came to life. Wait until my kids hear about this!"
Aren't you curious to know if she asked Mr. Ray, if he had a monkey named George?
Disclaimer: This took me longer than 5 minutes to write.

Thanks for the compliment and for stopping by! : )
How funny is that! Yes, I am curious. And in real life - I have dealt with customers like that. No fun!!!
YAY! I made you laugh again! : ) I wrote that last line because in case you didn't know, Mr. & Mrs. Ray wrote the children's books "Curious George." It is about a monkey from Africa that the man in the yellow hat brought back to the states. Mrs. Ray was the writer and Hans Ray was the illustrator. My kids loved those books and so do my grand-kids. : )
Thank you! I knew :) I have read them many times to my kids too lol
