Gone (#freewrite)

This is my contribution to the single prompt option of weekend freewrite, hosted by the wonderful @mariannewest. I have randomly picked a prompt (“a shoe”) and – as I do most of the time with freewrite – immediately started writing. I have to admit that I was a bit generous regarding the time today, I did have the end in my mind, but not written down when the 5 minutes were up – so I actually wrote for about almost 6 minutes.

If you like Freewriting, head over to the new #Freewritehouse, there's tons of fun waiting for you!

Thanks a lot for your interest!

She was probably not coming back, was she? He looked around, everything was so different from last night. The shiny lamps and the music had turned this old building into a place to party, into a wild, tremendous place of life, people full of energy, full of life and love and laughter. Now it was quiet, so quiet that he could hear his heart pounding in his chest. He hadn’t drunken a lot last night, just a few glasses of beer, he didn’t like to be too drunk. He wanted to clearly see and hear and experience what was happening around him. And he was so glad that he had done this last night. When she had entered, the energy in the room changed. She was glowing, in the best way he could ever imagine. Shining like a star, full of positivity. He was immediately drawn to her. They had talked a while, danced later. He had taken her onto the balcony, they had gazed at the stars. “Dancing stars ...”, he had said. “Do you know the story how the stars did get up in the sky?” “No”, she had whispered, and he had smiled. But just when he wanted to tell this story, the first sunbeams had touched her chest, and she, in surprise, had called out “Is it morning already?” And before he could ask her if he could see her again she had disappeared. And everything she had left him, when she had been rushing outside, running from him, from the castle, was a shoe.

Ha, my girlfriend skipped town and all she left me to remember her by was one lousy shoe lol. I like this version but here is my favorite version. 😉

Hee Haw Cinderella Story Backwards

Hahaha, awesome, thank you so much, didn't know the story of Rindercella, lol!

I love your modern day Cinderella tale! Great use of the single prompt!

Thank you so much!

Time flies when you want it to stand still, doesn't it Cinderella? I wish she didn't have to go. : )

You're not the only one :) But who knows, maybe she'll return? ;)

That would be great, and you just never know when the prompt will fit in. One of the things that I love about freewrites. : )

Yes, absolutely! It's also challenging in a good way (well, challenges are always good in my view, anyway) to tell a story on a prompt that I cannot relate to at all, when I first see it. It doesn't always end well, tough, lol! But it's always fun to try!
