This is my entry to the freewrite daily. I am going to continue with my fiction writing.
5 Minute Freewrite - Prompt: Rain
Roy was looking at the street next to his house. Marie used to live there. And it's been 8 years since she got married. She is happily settled into life. Roy is still the same, living day at a time. Nothing really changed for him other than few bucks earned here and there.
Life plays a curve ball when you're not paying attention. It throws you with all sort of challenges. And you don't understand what to do from there onwards.
Roy took life for granted. And never cared for people who were around him.

He did things as if he was going to live forever. And his dreams were all like glass, it collapsed as it failed to stand the test of time. And that's something roy didn't thought would be something that may happen.
Roy was feeling sad that his family members were dying one after another.
He wanted to cry. A lot.
But he made his ego and persona so hard over the years.
This time tears came down.
Nature didn't liked this it seems.
It started raining.

I enjoyed your free writing. Obviously, the story has sad undertones, but I enjoed the imagry.

That is a sad story and I have seen a few who have lived it, at least to some extent. It is not pretty to get older and towards the end of life having no one, not even memories of a previous life with someone. 🙁
I think I lived some extent of it, though I am in 30s not that old. I have seen some people going to 60s with this then joining religion, cult, conspiracy theory groups to deal with that emptiness. So I just observed those people and wrote about them in the story. I wanted to include this in my short stories list but considering it's sad I thought I dont' want my book published with sad stories. I prefer horror over sad :D
