5-minute freewrite Day 364 prompt: honey

"Honey, where did you put the mustard?" It was an innocent question, but Hal got the feeling he ought not to have asked it. Marie stared at him blankly and pointed silently at the fridge. Peering hopefully at the shelves and drawers, Hal only saw ketchup, relish, salad dressing, mayo, and pickles. No mustard. "It's not here," he stated sadly. Mustard was his favorite condiment, especially on rhubarb sandwiches with anchovies, which was his intended lunch today. Sighing deeply, he set the rhubarb and anchovies aside and reached resignedly for the car keys. "I'll just pop down to the convenience store and buy another jar," he decided, and proceeded to slip on a jacket and head out the front door. "Is there anything you'd like me to buy for you while I'm there?" Hal asked politely. "How about a quart of saurkraut if they have it?" replied Marie. "It'll go well with my sardine and turnip pizza." Hal stepped on out to the car, while the cat sat in the corner of the room and dreamed of barbecued mice with tartar sauce.
