The black pearl

She was a shy girl. She never had any close friends. People used to look at her with pity. She never minded any of it though as she was content with life. Her horses were magnificent and she took pride in them. Time spent with her dear horses left her little time to socialize anyway.

A stranger came along one day to her stables. She asked him about what he wanted and he smiled back. He was very good looking and she could not help staring at him. She stopped in time. He told her that he was her schoolmate and then she remembered him as her only best friend. He promised to come back later and went off.

After a week, he returned with the black pearl. Yes, that was the name of his prize horse. He was going abroad and he wanted a good caretaker for his horse. He signed the agreement papers but before he left, he made sure to tell her that he was interested in the caretaker as well.
