What can I say about the prompt tart? I do quite a bit of cooking and like to think it all tastes good. In all my cooking I have never made a tart. I’ve made pies, cheesecakes, crumbles and even butter tarts, Ohh...butter tarts would qualify as a tart. I haven’t made them for years as I found them too sweet.
What exactly is a tart? It could be an unflattering way to describe certain woman or just someone you are not particularly fond of.
I don’t think of a tart as being a flirtatious woman wearing clothes to attract attention but as a pastry baked in muffin pans with filling that is left open on the top. Usually lemon, blueberry or strawberry for filing.

What is the difference between a pie, cake and tart?
If I translate the word into Dutch and German it is what I would call a pie.

Kitty, A tart is usually smaller than a cake- about the size of a muffin. There are bigger tarts. I think the difference between a cake and a tart is the tart filling or fruit is showing. like this one.

Howdy redheadpei! I don't think they use the term tart anymore to describe women like that do they? It sounds like an earlier expression from the past. But then I have no idea. lol. I like to think of your baking products much better though!
Haha Cowboy, I think they use much stronger words than ‘tart’ nowadays.
It is a old expression to heard someone say,
“She’s a bit of a tart.”
And it’s not meant as a compliment. Probably used in old, old movies or books.

Cowboy. I’m at the dinosaur age and never heard the word in general conversation. You must hang with a different older crowd. 😂
haha! I think it's a country thing, surely there are differences in terms used between the U.S. and Canada? I've never been there so I don't know. And if you've only been to the Northeast U.S. that doesn't count. lol.
Not much difference in the people. I’ve been as far as Florida in the U.S.A. Went to Disneyland in Orlando and visited a friend in Tarpon springs. shopped in Tampa, Florida. That’s a long time ago and I hear it’s a lot busier there now and many alligators or crocs.
Yeah Florida has way too many people! lol. But then Texas is getting way too many also with over a thousand per day moving here.
