5 Minute Freewrite Friday (The smell from within)
Who loves coming home to the fresh scent of something cooking?
The smell outside makes the mouth water. The belly rumbling
with anticipation of what may be in store for dinner.
As soon as you open that door, you know it's the smell within
that tops off the hunger you feel. The smell lingers in the air
for what seems an eternity before you get to shove that yummy
goodness into your mouth.
You try to silence the rumbling within your stomach with no luck.
You whiff and whiff from the smell within the oven, not daring to
open it and feel the bakers wrath. Oh the torture of delicious food
just awaits your hunger like no other.
"Feel the bakers wrath" hahah well said.. But sometimes the temptation prevails!

It is the best treat to smell something cooking when you walk in the door! I'm the baker and cooker...but on a rare day, I know what this feels like haha
Lol, same here. Sometimes I smell one of the neighbors cooking as I walk by and try to figure out what it is. But my favorite I think, is coming home to food in the crockpot.
Yes! Crockpot food is so tastey!
I also try to figure out what they're cooking...and I love when I can smell their dryers haha
OMG, that is crazy. I thought I was weird that I like the smell of dryers. I hate doing laundry, but love the smell of clean clothing wafting through the dryer vents.
Haha yes! Then I like to play the game..."which detergent did the use?" Lol But I've been using homemade for so long, that I'm out of practice 😂
Oh homemade? An ex coworker made her own. May I ask what you use for ingredients? My boy and I have sensitive skin, but especially me. I always buy anything free and clear, but most don't really work well.
Sure! Right now it's very simple. I put 1/2 baking soda in the wash and 1/2 cup vinegar in the rinse. In the past I used a mix of borax, washing soda and Dr. Bronners castille soup. I'm not sure if the borax or washing soda would effect sensitive skin, but the Dr. Bronners should be good! If you're interested, I can give you the recipe!

I agree. Warm fresh bread is the best ever.
And the smell of it! Drives me crazy, passing a bakery.
We have a bakery about 10-15 minutes from here. They make all their breads for sandwiches and everything. So yummy but expensive as heck. The aroma around the area is heavenly.
Probably a good area to hunt for pixies, too.
