Day 150: 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday - Prompt: sizzling

"Order up!" I shout as I pass the dish that I just prepared. I look at the next order slip and confirm the
dish.

The veggies are have all been prepared beforehand by an army of apprentices who do nothing but chop veggies all day.

The vibrant red and green of bell peppers, the green and white of spring onions and an assortment of mushrooms from Button to Shitake and the green leafy plants like Spinach, Cabbages and Broccoli. The orange of the carrots.

The smell of Chinese 5 spices, Saffron, Paprika, Basil and Oregano filled the air making it more exotic.

Out come the wok and placed over the fire to make it hot and sizzling before I put in the oil. With martial movement of somewhat a dance I drop the oil and wait for it to get hot. Then comes in the onions, then garlic enveloping the kitchen in the aroma of being stir fried I just love the smell of onions sweating and giving off its fragrant cooking smell.

Next comes the bell peppers, the spring onions, carrots and mushrooms. Put in some sweet oyster sauce, a dash of salt and pepper for taste and all those green leafy goodness. "Don't overcook it!" my brain tells me.

It is then plated and served another wonder dish from the sizzling food goddess of the kitchen.
