Free Write Sunday prompt Rate
This is my post for #freewrite Sunday prompt rate by @mariannewest
I am back from my cruise with my daughter and three of my grandkids. We drove across the state to get on the ship, we live on the east coast and the ship was on the west coast. It is only like a two-hour drive. I do not know what my daughter paid for this trip but the rate they charged for every little thing is ridiculous. We unloaded the car and she went to park the car, the cruise parking was 75 dollars and it was full so she drove around until she found parking, this place charged 60 dollars to park and they would not take her card, luckily I had cash.
Our first stop was Grand Cayman. The two older grandkids were booked on a dive at a rate of 140.00 each. They were to dive to 30 feet since this was their first dive without the trainer. The dive boat took them to 100 feet, I am still pissed about that. 100 feet is too deep for anyone who has no experience diving. But they survived so I am good.
Me my daughter and another daughters child took a tour bus at a rate of 25.00 each, we went to Hell, that is the name of the town. We took pictures and bought souvenirs. Then we had rum tastings, that was good. I had never had banana rum, it is really good straight.
Our next stop was to let my granddaughter swim with the dolphins at a rate of 139.00, it was a lot to pay but the smile on her little face made it worth the price. I do not care much for dolphins, I call them the wolves of the sea, but I felt sorry for these. They had a large pool with three in it and smaller pools with two in them, it was sad.
Next, we went to Cozumel Mexico. There my daughter booked an excursion to see the Mayan Ruins in Tumul. We had to get on a boat and take a 45 min ride then take a bus for an hour ride. The ruins were awesome, they were some very smart people back then, I was impressed with the things they could do. There was a building that a woman could tell when her baby was due by the way the sun entered it. And one that made a noise when a storm was coming.
After the Ruins we went on a zip line then swam in a Cenote, it was way too cold for me so I just watched, the kids loved it and they also jumped off a 30-foot cliff into the cenote. My youngest granddaughter astonished the people by jumping off the cliff, she did it many times. They met us just before going back to the boat and gave her a picture of us for free. They were charging a rate of 40.00 for one picture or for 69.00 you get the picture and a thumb-drive with other pictures. My daughter bought that package.

Cars are very great things to make an income with (in every way you can think about). We want our "holy cow" to be safe.
I am also not fond of dolphins, they are rapists too.
If you think about it, it's strange how intelligent some cultures were long before ours.

@wakeupkitty I agree with your statement on how some cultures were intelligent long before ours. I have thought of this and wonder what happened to make us dumb, maybe dumb is not the right word but for lack of a better word. The average person today cannot read the skies or build buildings that read them.
I have heard of dolphins trying to rape women and seen videos of them trying to get between a woman's legs and her boyfriend kept pushing it away.
They hunt just like wolves do, and if you throw back an undersized fish they are right there to get it. And they even take my fish while I am reeling it in.
I think the main problem is we gave up on ourselves, our voice inside that warns us, instinct, etc. We live our lives the way we are reached to do it because that is the only right way.
I always wonder why some animals are praised into the sky and suddenly the main group is blind for what it really is and others are bad and filthy and will never score some good points to prove the opposite.

wakeupkitty I have wondered the same thing about animals, people do not see them for what they are.
Haha! Love this post and you sum up the cruise experience for me. Money, money, money! Just the amounts your listed would pay my way in SE Asia for over a month.

@fitinfun yes it is all about the money, I do not know what my daughter paid for everything but I am sure it was a lot. I took 500 with me and came home with 30. I only gambled 5 dollars of it and the rest just went to tips and tour buses also my granddaughter swimming with dolphins. I bought a few trinkets for my other grandkids. All the food on the ship was free and my daughter paid for us to have all the soda we wanted to drink. I would like to know how much the boat brings in on a cruise, They had a thing where you can buy a 10 dollar tee shirt to support St Judes Children's Hospital and in 15 minutes they raised 3,800.00. they said 100% of it went to St Judes. That was good.

The Mayan Ruins in Tumul looks definitely like an awesome place to visit... !!!!!
I have have never been on a zip line but would Love to do that someday somewhere...!!!

@annephilbrick I miss spelled where the ruins are at, it is Tulum. For me, that was the highlight of the trip.
When I was a kid my Dad built a zip line for us to play on but I do not think we called it a zip line. It went a long way from tree to tree. If I was not careful I would get my hair caught in the pulley and get stuck half way, I had to pull little bits of hair out of the pulley to get loose.
