The Robot Who Had A Virus

"I have a tummy ache."

"How can you have a tummy ache? You're a robot."

"I don't know, but I have one," said Robot 1.

That's right, meet Robot 1 and Robot 2. I would like to give them proper names, but I nearly got sued the last time I did that.

"Maybe you ate too much," remarked Robot 2.

"Yes, maybe it was those chips I had for supper," said Robot 1.

Robot 2 is slightly confused.

"Why would you have chips for supper?"

"Why wouldn't I have chips for supper? It goes well with fish."

Then Robot 1 then realises something;

"Of course, you are an American robot. I meant proper chips. I think you call them fries."

"Whatever, I still don't understand how you can get a tummy ache."

"Maybe I have a virus," said Robot 1.

"I hope not," replied Robot 2.

Because this story is being made up as it goes along, I'd like to introduce another robot. It doesn't feel right to call it robot 3.

"I knew a robot," said Robot 2. "He had a virus. But it didn't give him a tummy ache. Robot 0.5 was his name."

"What happened to it?"

"The robot went crazy," replied Robot 2. "It started to become rude. It got worse day by day, until eventually, it destroyed itself."

"Robot heaven then."

"More likely, robot hell."

"I don't think there's such a place as robot hell," said Robot 1.

"I'm not so sure. Where are you going to put the bad robots?"

"I don't think robots are bad."

"I've seen bad robots," said Robot 2.

"Maybe you have," said Robot 1. "However, robots are only bad if they've been programmed to be bad. They're not bad at heart."

"I suppose you are right. It is nice to know that we'll all be going to heaven."

"That is correct," said Robot 1. "Which means that I can carry on with my plans for tomorrow."

"What are your plans for tomorrow?" asked Robot 2.

"I'm going to rob a bank."

"Is that a joke?" asked Robot 2.

"Yes," said Robot 1. "That was a joke."
