The Return Of The PeacockssteemCreated with Sketch.

in #freewrite4 years ago (edited)

Russell, the peacock, has gone missing!

"Is this a sequel?" asked Paul, the peacock.

"No," replied Sue.

"Then why is the story called 'Return of the ….?'"

"I have no idea. We may not find out until we get to the last sentence of the story."

"If the story is called 'Return of the …..,' then that would mean that one of us is going to go missing," observed Paul.

"Or, a peacock has already gone missing," said Sue

"That would make a great first line," said Paul. "The first line of the story should be, …….. has gone missing!"

"Who is …….?" asked Sue.

"I don't know. Shall we call him Russell?"

"Yes," said Sue. "Why don't you edit the first line of the story?"

"Done," said Paul

"Great," said Sue. "What shall we do now?"

"We'd better look for Russell."

Paul and Sue decided to pack their bags and look for Russell. They knew they had a long adventure in front of them, but they also knew that this would make a great story.

"What should the first part of the story be about?" asked Sue.

"I don't really care," replied Paul. "As long as it is not a dragon. I'm sure everyone is bored of dragons."

"That's the thing," said Sue. "They're not."

"Ok, but I would hate for the dragon to burn the beautiful colours on my back."

"I absolutely agree, let's say no dragons today."

"No dragons," they both say.

"We need another situation to make this story interesting," said Sue.

"I ate three breakfasts this morning," said Paul.

"No, you didn't. You ate half a muffin."

"I meant, in the interests of this story. I ate three breakfasts."

"If we eat three breakfasts," said Sue, "we'd probably get too tired for an adventure. We'd probably just want to return home and watch TV."

"That sounds like a great idea," said Paul.

"We'd have to change the title of the story," said Sue

"The Return of the Peacocks," said Paul. "Russell doesn't even exist."
